L.A. Noire Developer Studio To Close

Team Bondi, the guys behind the hit L.A. Noire, is set to close its doors according to documents filed with the Australian Securities And Investments Commission.

The forms confirmed that a liquidator has been appointed, who will now handle the sale of Team Bondi’s remaining assets. This move looks to put an end to the long-running saga surrounding the developer’s future.

Earlier this year L.A. Noire released to a wave of critical acclaim, even becoming the fastest selling new IP ever in the UK. Despite the very positive sales figures, the team behind the game came increasingly under pressure after it emerged that their relationship with publisher Rockstar had been ‘badly damaged’ during development of the title.

In August, the majority of Team Bondi’s assets were sold to animation and production company KMM and the firm went into administration on 30th August.

  1. Sucks for them but Steve Jobs has passed away. I think TSA should do an article on him as he did make iOS the worlds biggest gaming platform.

    • Thanks for telling me, probably wouldn’t have found out for days otherwise. Sad news.

    • I am sorry to hear that. RIP Steve

  2. It’s a shame that this had to happen because despite my lack of enthusiasm for the game they clearly they had some talented people working there. Hopefully those former employees will find new opportunities.

  3. That sucks, hopefully jobs will be found.. personally I thought the game had faults, but it was technically very, very good. It seemed they had a skilled team.

  4. Terrible news. I loved their game and was hoping to see more from them. Best wishes to all involved.

  5. Hope all involved get sorted quickly.

  6. Poor guys, sad to see another Aussie studio close.

  7. Real shame..

  8. Didn’t they work there workers like slaves? Im sorry people have lost there jobs but hopefully theyll get work with a better company.

  9. Damn was hoping for a sequel in the 80’s. LA Noire was amazing

    • I read that Rockstar still own the intellectual property for LA Noire, so we could (and probably will) still see a sequel.

  10. What the hell? Rockstar can save them from closing which in result in the developers becoming unemployed. They made millions for Rockstar and this is how they repay them. Rockstar, you have just lost a bit of respect.

    • I hear your point, but in Rockstars defense, the development process took a long time and Bondi’s management had plenty of opportunity to put their house in order yet singularly failed to do so.
