Well now this is a surprise. Remember when Demon’s Souls wasn’t even going to be shipped to Europe as no one wanted to take on publishing duties? Well the spiritual successor, Dark Souls, has smashed the UK Chart in the face, coming in at number three.

RAGE comes in at number two, whilst the almighty FIFA remains at the top of the pile. Elsewhere, NBA 2K12 debuts in 12th place, with the ICO and SoTC Collection down in 17th.

  3. Sad that the Team Ico Collection is so low, glad to see Deus Ex is still going strong at number eight.

I give up, I might see if I can get Dark Souls. It will probably just make me miserable but I just can’t resist.

    • I feel the same way about Dark Souls. It’ll drive me mad, but I still REALLY want it!

      • Implaying it now, its worth the Pain, it really is.

      • I guess that if nothing else Dark Souls has proven that masochism is much more common than previously thought ;)

    • I’ve been self harming alot recently, might give this a go instead

    • I’m not sure what sort of figures a game needs to get into the chart but 17th might not be a bad result for a remake. With the exception of Zumba Fitness all those above Ico are pretty big releases.

  4. Hardly a surprise but still awesome to see RAGE doing well. Saw about an hour of it at a mate’s house this weekend and it looks really good. Tight controls, awesome visuals and cool vehicle sections. Love the little easter egg rooms too :D May have to pick up a copy to tide me over until Uncharted3

  5. Got to say, I’m loving Dark Souls. Only an hour in, but so far it’s not too bad…

  6. I really want to buy Rage, but I know that in 2 weeks I’ll only have time for BF3, MW3 and Uncharted3. (Three is definately the magic number)!

Shame I have to miss out on Rage. :(

    • I bought Rage for £32.98 from Asda! I heard Tesco had it for £25. It’s a good game, especially at that price.

      • Thanks for the heads-up…that is a great price!

  7. Played about 8 hours of Dark Souls so far, seems loads easier than Demon’s Souls was so far. No doubt it will become rock hard at some point.

Absolutely love it, spend all my time when not playing it thinking about what to do next…

Re the Ico collection not doing so well, I think that it’s not stocked everywhere, I’ve yet to see a copy in the shops.

    • Played about 10h of Dark Souls and to me it seems more difficult than Demon’s Souls, which I didn’t find too difficult at all. Possibly because I played as a magician then, but now I need to get close up and personal with all those undead.

However, I love it. It’s quite addictive, and going for the Taurus demon about 10 times was fun – especially when you finally win against it… :o)

Good to see it’s doing well comercially…!

    • Have you traveled to the Darkroot Garden Basin?

      • Darkroot Garden Basin…? Don’t think so… was just making my way from Firelink Shrine to the Undead Burg and Undead Parish… currently struggling around there with several (mini-)bosses…

      • Oh…. I must admit thats okay unless the Hydra sees you. Sadly it Killed my summoned Phantom with its Water blasts all that after vanquishing crystal monsters..

        R.I.P random companion…

Anyway I guess your getting burned by the Wvyern or getting overwhelmed by the Metal Boar haha?

  8. A friend who doesn’t even play video games was raving to me about Rage having watched his flatmate play it. I sill have to finish Deus Ex and Resistance 3, plus i picked up Fallout New Vegas Collectors edition for €25 and started playing that last night – so i’ve got plenty to keep me going atm and Rage will have to wait.

I think the Ico/SotC dynamic themes and video DLC go live today btw.

    • Thanks – I had forgotten about the DLC codes. Good job! :)
