Ultimate MvC3 'Heroes And Heralds' DLC Revealed

It's free and adds a whole bunch of craziness.

A new mode has been announced for Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 that will completely change the way you play the game. Have you ever wanted to customize your team with crazy properties that shouldn’t be possible? Well, that’s exactly what the new Heroes and Heralds mode is all about.

In Heroes and Heralds, you can customize your team with up to three cards to enhance your team in various ways. For example, you can have projectile invulnerability, super armored assists, and attacks that leave the opponent in a dizzy state. There’s even a card that lets you parry attacks, which is a mechanic that hasn’t been seen since it was introduced in Street Fighter III.

The card system seems similar to the new Gems mechanic from Street Fighter x Tekken. However, according to Seth Killian in a recent interview, it’s not actually balanced in UMvC3. Check out the trailer below to see the new mode in action.

Capcom also revealed that Galactus will be a playable character. He will only be available in a mode dedicated to him though, so he’s not actually a part of the normal roster.

Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is set to hit store shelves on November 15th in North America and on the 18th in Europe. Heroes and Heralds will be released as free DLC sometime after the game launches.

So are the cards mentioned above like the gems recently announced for Streetfighter x Tekken? They sound pretty similar.

I actually had a sentence that stated just that but with an additional note. I think it got deleted when I pasted the YouTube URL lol. I’ll re-add that sentence back in.

Update: >_> there we go. Fixed. It has a link to a recent interview with Seth Killian.

Aha! I thought that sounded somewhat similar. :)

Although, not liking the sound of ‘unbalanced’ though – Surely that just means that there will be one lethal combination that everyone will use eventually (which in turn will make it balanced again i suppose??).

        :S
