I made a prediction at the end of last year that Zelda would perform terribly in the charts, whatever the quality of the game. Thankfully it seems I was wrong, as Skyward Sword débuts at number seven. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is this week’s strongest new entry, coming in at two, with Halo doing well at six.
Saints Row: The Third comes in at four, comfortably outdoing Saint Row 2′s release day figures. Peter is currently “strapping it on” to get the review out ASAP. Super Mario 3D Land also makes the top ten, and you can expect our review soon. Need for Speed: The Run doesn’t seem to have made much of an impact at all, bearing in mind the brand used to command the number one spot.
And that, bar a couple of late releases, seems to be the end of the crazy release schedule from the last couple of months. It’s been fun!
1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (Activision)
2. Assassin’s Creed: Revelations (Ubisoft)
3. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Bethesda)

How far down do the charts go, is there a top 40, top 100 or is it just the top 20, can never remember. And where did NFS: The Run chart, if known?

Got a fright there, scanned down it and completely missed Skyrim. Began writing a big reply to moan at how such a good game has been totally shafted. Glad I reread.

I wonder if MW3 will still be there until the next game to top it off say…. Mass Effect 3 but of course there’s Christmas maybe Assassin’s Creed will bump up or even Skyrim (Which I don’t have yet!)

I wondering that too, I think Skyrim is on lot of peoples x-mas lists, it’s on mine. It’s a game that needs alot of time to play, and with the quick fire releases out at the moment I haven’t got the time free to give it the attention it deserves.

Skyrim’s on mine! (can see it staying at the top near xmas). No surprise about MW3 or AC:R. UC3 seems to have dropped quickly

Really enjoying Saints. Its just plain fun gaming, which is a nice break from all these games that seem to take themselves to seriously nowadays. Looking forward to hearing what TSA thinks of it..

Couldn’t agree more it’s fantastic. After about 5 missions I thought it must have hit a high because it had so many amazing moments already and the free roaming is so fun, but it just keeps getting better! Haven’t had as much fun in an open world game since I first played Vice City.

Any idea which console it getting it next after the Wii? I think I read only 2 consoles were getting it…..not that I’m, er, buying it, obviously.

Surprised AC has entered so high, I thought people would have been bored of the series (like me). Seems I am wrong.
Also surprised to see BF3 drop quite low with Halo and Zelda being console specific, mind you, it’s a pretty strong top 10.

Yeh funny how strong 1-10 are, then 11-15…. well the less said about that, the better.

Yeah, you can tell Christmas is coming. 10-15 definitely seem for the casual/family/social gamer!

I’ll only be buying 1 of the top ten and thats only once the price of fifa drops. Having rented Assassin’s Creed i’m already a bit bored of it. The quality of the “big” christmas releases this year have been a bit of a let down

Yeah, I’ve had enough of AC, although I can apprecaite they are good games.
Really, I think there are some good games? I have MW3 and BF3 to keep me going until Xmas, then I should be getting Uncharted 3 and House of the Dead for Christmas. Skyrim looks good but I don’t have the time for it, it’s too epic.

Millions still adore Ezion as it seems the whole idea of assasinating.

Yep, as I said I am wrong, and must be in the minority. Fair play to Ubisoft.

this is just the age where many games lack excitement to me, AC falls under that.

Nice to see AC:R doing well, surprised at how much BF3 and UC3 has dropped.
