CoD: Black Ops Has The Best Ending Ever

Yes, really.

Guinness World Records have released a list showing the 50 best video game endings of all time, as voted for by 13,519 gamers. Call of Duty: Black Ops tops that list. The top 5 also included Halo: Reach, Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, CoD: Modern Warfare 2 and God of War.

“Everyone has an opinion on how to end a game whether it’s an epic boss fight, a clever plot twist or a 90-minute movie.” said Gaz Deaves, the Gaming Editor for Guinness World Records 2012 Gamer’s Edition.  “This list recognises some of the greatest endings and hopefully will get gamers talking about what are their favourites and why.”

Wheres Manic Miner ? Do games from before the 16 bit days not even count these days . I hate the way game journos think only what has happened in their own gaming lifetime is relevant.
Its only thanks to Sinclair , Commodore , BBC and Amstrad that you are now able to play these later games because we gamers of that generation went on to create them .

To me it just seems like a random list of games.

No Mafia II. No InFamous 2. No Enslaved. Thats just a few that aint on there. Just shows how this list has no credibility and thats without Blops as number 1. I cant even remember the ending.

The most popular films are never the best, nor are the most popular music or books, this is no different – In my opinion at least.

So 13,519 “gamers” vote and they get a top 50 from that (plus however many games didn’t make it into the top 50).

Worst sample size than the average shampoo ad

I don’t, the series has it’s place in gaming, it’s good fun in short bursts here and there. I do wish, however, that other game series which deserve the sales would get a fraction of what CoD gets, and recognition too.
This list is complete bullshit though, I can at least think of a few dozen games I’d put above Black Op’s. The story was mediocre at best.

While I’ll freely admit Black Ops was my personal favourite of the series Story wise, there’s no way I’d think it had the best ending in game, more like the most popular. And Super Mario Bros. 11th?!!What the hell?
