GAME Not Selling Ubisoft’s PS Vita Titles

[drop2]GAME won’t be selling any of Ubisoft’s Vita launch titles, VG247 are reporting.

Ubisoft’s line-up is a strong one, with the sublime Rayman Origins alongside the utterly fabulous Lumines: Electronic Symphony, but if you’re looking to get them from GAME you’ll be out of luck.

“At this time we will not be selling the … Ubisoft titles,” the retailer said.

“All customers affected by this decision have been made aware of the situation and we will continue to communicate any updates to customers through our Twitter and Facebook feeds.”

Other Ubisoft launch games include Michael Jackson, Dungeon Hunter and Asphalt Injection.

  1. Apparently this applies to Ninja Gaiden as well.
    Game are in serious trouble.

  2. I’m guessing we’ll still be able to trade our Ubi Vita games in? Got a copy of Rayman off Amazon for a fiver so it’d be nice to get a sum back for WipEout of Modnation.

  3. I wonder if Ubi has had enough with Game’s focus on preowned and are attacking them by banning them from selling their vita games?

I wonder if we will see a restructing of Game in an attempt to save themselves? They would be foolish not to as let’s face it, you can’t charge £40 for a preowned game and dedicate 90% of shelf space to preowned as that will end up biting you in the rear end.

I understand what you are saying (& to a certain extent i actually agree), but this is probably exactly what we will end up seeing if this trend of publishers not suporting Game continues – They would have to trade in whatever commodities they have, which would be pre-owned.

& i suspect that they wouldn’t be doing that for too long either.

  4. Werid is Game had all the boxes for the games out on the shelves yesterday. I know it doesn’t mean much but seems very late notice to suddenly come out hours before they do midnight openings.

  5. The problem I have with game is that I haven’t been able to find copies of brand new games I’m interested in for a long time. LA noire complete edition being a primary example. When they do have second hand copies they’re no cheaper than brand new copies online.

  6. Are you all ready for the Tesco take over? Lets face it, someone at head office will be watching this with interest. I know that Tesco is about to make aggressive moves into digital media. It’s started with Blinkbox and is carrying on into the digital music market. They are going after iTunes and no doubt will start on the gaming industry. I’m not complaining I’m a shareholder but like food sales, the prices will rise. They’ll drop like a stone for a year or so then start to rocket. They did it in the food markets.

  7. GAME can’t go. It’s a part of my childhood! They need to stock more new games and give better bundle deals.

  8. really hope GAME can get out of this.

  9. I Hope the games are now going to be bought from grainger games. I got rayman with my shopto deal really great game

  10. Im in mixed feelings about game group.
i think its harsh people attack the pricing stratergy where at most 90% of the time we are talking £2 or £3 differance which you tend to get back on loyalty cards etc…
as for deals, wasnt so long ago that game and gamestation were selling skyrim meer weeks after launch for £22.49
and gamestation sold saints row the 3rd for £19.99

maybe this aggressive discounting to get money in over xmas is a main cause of games current issue.
after all, everywhere was around the £37 – £45 for skyrim. they could have sold it at £32.99 at the time and people would have still flocked! same for saints row 3rd.

Game group have been keeping supermarkets at bay from taking the briks and morter market. if they went, HMV would probably get better support from publishers. and we would get an indy boooom. without GAME its possible that prices would get better for indys because distribution would be begging indys to stock the games to get maximum exposure.

I see GAME’s problems as a shame. But as Ivan Drago said. if he dies. he dies.

    • This is of course dependent on having independent traders in the vicinity, which where i am from, we don’t.

It’s Game, Gamestation or HMV for new games on the Highstreet. That’s it.
