Well would you look at this – Uncharted: Golden Abyss has taken the top spot in the UK Chart! In fact, there are a number of Vita games scattered about with FIFA, Rayman and WipEout 2048 all making the top 20 (although WipEout deserves to be much higher in my opinion).
Outside of the top 20, Ridge Racer enters at 28, Virtua Tennis 4 at 30, Everybody’s Golf at 32, and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 at 33. The Last Story, a fantastic Wii Action RPG debuts at 15, and you can expect our review soon.
It’s a shame we can’t see the digital sales for the Vita launch line-up.

1. UNCHARTED: GOLDEN ABYSS – SONY COMPUTER ENT.
Crikey.

Go Vita!!
JesseDeya
Indeed.
Especially when you consider this is for the week ending 25 Feb. By my calculations this is only three days of sales (unless the games were on sale early?) and/or pre-orders.

Good showing from the Vita titles aimed at Sony’s target demographic.
Not a bad showing from The Last Story, wonder how it was effected by the lack of High St presence after Ubi & GAME couldn’t come to a supply arrangement, seemingly not as bad as Tekken 3DS the week before.

Yas! Great news for Vita. Couldn’t be happier.

Rayman at 5th is a good sign

Indeed it is. I guess GAME not stocking the title actually didn’t matter that much after all. As expected.
colmshan1990
Might want to point out that Uncharted and FIFA was Game’s bundle in Ireland.
And check out position 1 & 2 in that chart.

Go! little Rayman ;)
freezebug2
I’m presuming it’s the Vita version…

If the title is the same then they could be lumped together, so Vita assisted the multi-format version in being propelled up the chart.
FIFA has a different title so it’s easy to see.

Rayman at 5th without GAME is impressive.
Forrest_01
I don’t think it’s that impressive – I suspect a lot of people ordered it with their vita & as a lot were preordered through the likes of Play, Amazon & even Game online, that could account for quite a lot of sales.
Not taking anything away from the achievement of course. :)

‘Cough.’ Amazon. £6. ‘Cough.’

Glad to see this. Anyone know how the 3DS titles compared on its release? I know different variables will be in affect but just interested.
Dan Lee
I think a number of 3DS titles made the top 20.
kjkg
I thought that, but don’t think any broke the top 3 did they?

3DS launch was a bit similar to PS3 in that the big guns were absent… Zelda, Monster Hunter, Mario followed after the pricedrop. the soft launch of the 3DS is one of the reasons Sony were so keen to get the big guns out. hopefully the Vita can emulate the 3DS’ later success too
kjkg
And by compared I mean by chart position!

I don’t think it made much of an impact to be honest. Then again, the launch titles were dreadful/ports so it’s hardly surprising.

Incredible that Uncharted is beating the multi-format Fifa, especially when it is a leading Vita title itself!
Uncharted deserves it though. I started it and I never thought I’d enjoy touch screen controls. Choosing your climbing path using touch screen is not only quicker, but much easier. The six axis camera integration with the rear touch screen zoom is excellent, as is the rope climbing and charcoal rubbing – its truly innovative and brilliant! Uncharted is by far the best example of the Vitas various controls systems than anything else I’ve seen…although I’ve not played Little Deviants or Welcome Park!
colmshan1990
I don’t think it is beating FIFA overall- FIFA Football is no.2, but FIFA 12 is no. 4.
If you were to add the two, I reckon FIFA would be top.
Agree with your assessment of Uncharted though- my highlight so far was a stunning sixaxis controlled section where Drake was hurtling through a river.
I hope Naughty Dog took notes on that part, it’s my favourite level in any game for a long time.

I realised my Fifa error shortly after, sadly someone noticed! ;)
Not got that far myself but thats encouraging to hear! I have been blown away with the simplicity but execution of the touch-screen climbing – can’t wait to see what else is to come! And I like the variation in collectables (photos, rubbings/treasure) to achieve certain trophies. I hope this isn’t overshadowed by this Black Market thing, as I really would like the Platinum but not sure how hard it will be to trade items using Near!
colmshan1990
It’s great, but I also have no idea how to work Near, and by extension, the Black Market.
Still, I’ll tinker and figure it out eventually. :P
Youles
Well when you do, please let me know how it works!! ;)

Very surprised by this, I wish we could get actual sales figures. I wonder if this is just a week 1 thing, or if sales will be sustained.

Wow, Sony must be doing backflips right now! Glad to see Uncharted riding high (easily my favourite Vita experience so far) but the real hero is Rayman Origins. When playing the PS3 demo a while back I thought it would suit a handheld environment more. Clearly that is indeed the case :)
Taylor Made
I agree, I wanted to buy Rayman on ps3 but thought to myself this game would work so good on a handheld. Now I have it on the vita am glad money well spent, now they just need bring that multiplayer so I can play with my vita friends

great news love my Vita.
