A frenzy is how Dan describes his gaming this week. Top of list is the almost-too-good-for-words Journey which he says âis the best thing since Jesus battled Superman on the moonâ. I must have missed that particular comic but Journey is garnering such worthy praise from so many sources that Jenova Chen probably could get away with founding a religion; a religion based on awesome, emotional, thought-provoking gaming experiences that speak to the individuals playing them.
When not surfing Journeyâs dunes Danâs âalso been struggling to wrap [his] head around the combos in BlazBlue on the Vitaâ. Fighting games are renowned for being somewhat impenetrable but he says of BlazBlue that it âis about as noob friendly as some clever analogy I can’t think ofâ. Despite that heâs happy to call it the systemâs best fighting game.
The Last Story, âwhich is a brilliant game marred by some technical isuesâ has seen itself finished. His final criticism is that it lacks those special âOh, wow!â environments that made Xenoblade Chronicles extra special. To change things up a bit he turned to Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus âwhich has aged really well although it still has a camera crafted by Satan himselfâ.
Lastly Dan, like many of us, has been playing a lot of MotorStorm RC. Though he is man enough to admit what most are too proud to:
Actually, I’ve been pressing “start – restart” a lot on MotorStorm RC. I hate/love that game!
In stark contrast to Danâs vast swath of gaming, Kris has played âFIFA”, continuing his assault on the Championship with his local side, Brighton and Hove Albion. Stepping away from football, he’s also watch ”stupid amounts of SNL on Netflix.â
Aranâs been playing more UFC 3 and continues to have his butt handed to him when he ventures online. In Skyrim heâs got to the point where dragons are a minor inconvenience but small groups of chaurus are decidedly deadly. Then thereâs MGS 4 where itâs being stealthy thatâs the problem.

"Look out Tali the Geth have returned!"
My own gaming has seen a core a Gran Turismo 5 and a couple of longer than intended – just one more turn – Civilisation 5 sessions swamped by PS Vita gaming. In no particular order thatâs included Everybodyâs Golf, Rayman Origins, Top Darts, Hustle Kings, Escape Plan, WipEout 2048, Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Super Stardust Delta and MotorStorm RC.
Youâll know by now that weâre all enamoured of MotorStorm RCâs sheer playability and âI will beat you this timeâ leaderboard-encouraged âfriendlyâ rivalries. Iâve not played much in the way of golf games since the days of Links 386 back in the early 1990s but Iâm quite enjoying Everybodyâs Golf even if the characters get a little too excited about birdies. This weekâs PS Vita highlight for me though is Rayman Origins. Not only is it a rock-solid platformer but the artwork is just amazing, especially when you make the most of the ability to pinch-to-zoom.
Toby has finally gotten around to playing Batman: Arkham City âand so far it’s been a great experienceâ.
The things I loved about Arkham Asylum have stayed (such as the individual character biographies) and the things I wished were in Arkham Asylum have arrived. It’s official; nothing is cooler than preparing to be pumped full of lead before dropping a smoke pellet and flying off into the sky.
Completing his preparations for next week Jim has finished his Insanity play through of Mass Effect 2 with all crew members still in attendance at the end. His PS Vitaâs been taken for a spin with Frobisher Says and Uncharted. The quality of the systemâs launch titles has him looking forward to what weâll see on it over the coming years.
What have you been playing this week? Have you been enjoying your first full week of PS Vita ownership? Maybe youâve been taking advantage of some of the ridiculously great value PSP offers the NGPâs launch has spawned? Perhaps youâve been chowing down on some of the non-participatory content your consoles serve up for your consumption?

I’ve mainly been fondling my Vita, or should that be playing Uncharted, Motorstorm & Wipeout on it?
Also doing the SP campaign & Spec Ops on Modern Warfare 3 when I eventually let go of the Vita
I’ve been loading and not playing Medal of Honor, does that count?
Is there still an online comunity for it? Only trophies i need for my plat are a few online ones.
I was on it not so long ago, only about 3000 players online it said
Oh ok. I’d maybe interested in a Meet if anyone else is up for it?
Only 4 people can play in a party and the voice chat is horrible. I still need two online trophies though :/
Ive not played it online since it first came out. Thats odd that only has 4 player party. Let me know if you’re intered in hooking up for it. Players might increase with the lead up to Warfighter too
That true! yeah put me down, love the game.
cool. I’ll start a thread in the forums
Nothing much for me this week. Little bit of Motorstorm RC now and then which Im awful at. Had a go on Uncharted 3. Thats about it.
Should be playing my Vita from Sunday, with Rayman and Uncharted.
Been all about the Vita this week. Super Stardust, Motorstorm RC, Fifa Football and Uncharted GA. A tiny bit of Captain America: super Soldier breaking it up which is surprisingly better than I thought it would be.
Well i’ve been playing Fallout: New Vegas into 70 hours now after i finish it i just need to wait for my Tales of Graces F copy and Hyperdimension Neptunia Mk2. :D
Totally agree with Dan. I too love/hate Motor storm RC and “start – restart”. So today I moved to love/hate SSX and it’s “start – restart”. I must be mad.
F1 2011, Motorstorm RC & Apocolypse and my life has been taken over by Project Diva. Most addictive Rhythm Game is years.
