BioWare, currently busting up Xbox 360s with their latest non-working patch for Mass Effect 3, have been moaning about platform holder Sony with respect to the latest promotion for the game.
Speaking on the official blog, Eduardo Vasconcellos confirmed that this weeks’s Challenge Weekend will miss the PlayStation 3.
Operation Resurgence, as it’s known, fits in with the Resurgence Pack DLC and will reward players with a “Reserves Pack” next week with a new character if a player takes part in the event.
“This Operation is currently available to Xbox 360 and PC users only, and will run from Friday, April 13th at 5PM PST to Monday, April 16th 5AM PST,” says the post.
“Unfortunately, we are not yet able to offer our Multiplayer Challenge weekends on PlayStation 3. Sony has not yet approved the promotion. We continue to work with them to find a compromise.”
“Until then, Sony will not allow us to run the same Multiplayer Challenges on the PlayStation 3 that we run on Xbox 360 and PC.”
Similar messages were also pushed out last night over Twitter.

Excuse me while I take everything that comes out of a Bioware PR post about the PS3 version of the game with a truck load of salt, unless it’s “yeah, we got lazy. We’re fixing it”.
Odd that Sony will allow pretty much any other game to do this, not Mass Effect 3. You know, the game Bioware lazily ported to the PS3. Give me a break.
Couldnt have said it better.
Sick of BioWare and ME3 now, wish they would both vanish from the gaming news as their antics are becoming very boring.
Gave up on Mass Effect 3′s multiplayer quite a while ago. Anyone know if they fixed the crippling bug in which being disconnected means you get no credits/XP, even if you at round 11 and just about to climb into the evac (true story.)
Best fix is to buy it on PC ;)
Badaba ba ba, I’m luvin’ it!
But who was the developer that gave us a half arsed port? Hmm, Bioware? Which version of the game had a bug that prevented me from doing a question the citadel before it got patched?
Odd that Sony won’t allow Bioware to do the challenges on PS3. Wonder if they have do something that has really annoyed them?
Maybe the Multiplayer challenges are bugged to fuck and Sony are being cautious :)
This sounds the most feasible explanation i have heard/read.
I haven’t touched the MP and probably never will.
Anyone want my online code btw?
I have one but my sister is desperate for another so she can play the online when she borrows the game off me.
righty-o yogdog, all yours just msg me on psn and i’ll get it to you this eve when i get home..
Bonyman on psn btw..
even with my well known opinion of sony, i don’t believe bioware.
that’s how low their credibility has dropped in my opinion.
This is the first time I have heard of any bugs on PS3, what’s the problem?
360.
This is one thing Sony are normally good at, unless they’ve decided to change that too.
It is possible Bioware asked for SCEE to ‘QA’ it instead of SCEA though…
If SCEE have been asked by Bioware to QA it, we will never see them untill the day before EA shuts down the servers.
I sorry. But when did BioWare and Activision think they were bigger than Sony? They both seem to worship the ground Microsoft walk on. EA have said before they prefer Sony to Microsoft, because Sony don’t try to buy their way to victory like Microsoft have done. Rockstar said they prefer Sony over Microsoft, because if it wasn’t for Sony they’d have never got the publicity that they did. Ubisoft have always liked Sony.
Talk is cheap & cash is king.
