TSA Comments: Is The Last Guardian Ever Coming Out?

Set for E3 or dead in the water?

The Last Guardian is our number one most anticipated game, but after Fumito Ueda left Sony we’ve – like others – been wondering whether it’s ever going to see the light of day, despite claims from Shuhei Yoshida that the game still exists.

So, to kick off this week as we start to build towards a hopeful E3 return for Team Ico’s third game, what’s the TSA verdict?  Will the game ever release, or has it disappeared down a well, for good?

Tell us in the comments.

It’ll be bad for Sony to just shelve it, surely they still have TLG team intact and maybe they’ve gotten help from other studios like Santa Monica.

That’s true if I remember correctly. Some producers from other Sony studios offered help. Also Ueda is still working on the project as an external developer, right? Or is this old info?

I belive Santa Monica is in fact helping to finish the game. And so are other studios as well, I belive. And Ueda is still involved with the game so I think we’ll get an announcement either at E3 or TGS this year on when we can expect the game to be finished. Have hope.

Either way, I lost most of my initial interest in the game a long time ago. I guess that’s the problem with very early reveals. You get people hyped up and then fail to meet any expectations.

Do I think The Last Guardian will ever come out? Yes
Do I think it will be any good? Sure
Do I think it will be as great as it should be? Doubtful. If there is one thing the games industry has shown us it’s that rocky development cycles result in below par games. Sad but true.

“Was the game any good Duke?”
“Yeah, but after twelve f**king years, it should be!”

Fingers crossed, but I don’t expect anything at E3. Nor for Agent either.
