Yesterday it was heavily rumoured that SEGA had cancelled the still unannounced sequel to Bayonetta. Cancelling games isn’t that rare anymore, of course, but this one seemed to hit home to some loyal fans.
The first game was a solid fighter that attracted plenty of attention due to its innovative mechanics and – at least on 360 – impressive visuals. I imported the Japanese version of the game (on PS3) and wished I’d waited, but it’s still well worth picking up.
“We’ve heard all the rumors on the net. What do you guys think? Too bad it got cancelled, huh?” said one of the original game’s developers overnight.
With a sequel now apparently out of the picture, and Platinum Games a project down, how do you feel about the game only being a one-off? Are SEGA right to only concentrate on their core IPs after all their restructuring?
