Futurlab's Velocity Tops The Metacritic PSP Chart

Better than God of War.

If you’re a PlayStation Plus subscriber you owe it to yourself to get Velocity – regardless of whether you’ve got a PSP or not, because a) it’s free, and b) works on a PlayStation 3 or a Vita. It looks particularly lovely on the latter.

Dan scored it a 10/10 in our review, but Metacritic says it got a 9 from Pocket Gamer, a 9 from Edge and a 9 from Push Square. It also scored a 5/5 on PSNStores.com, although that review isn’t listed on Metacritic.

That gives the game, a top-down shooter/puzzler, a meta score of 92, the highest on the list, above God of War and Grand Theft Auto.

Impressive, for a humble indie studio.

I really hope this is just a whimsical piece of reporting.

True but I still think it deserves a chance to go against the big guys, it is a good game afterall.

TheSixthAxis is a rubbish unheard of site for reasons such as this report and the amateur written reviews.

    1) Metascores mean nothing, just because one game is higher than another doesn’t mean it’s better. Metacritic isn’t even accurate, they don’t use a set amount of publications and they have a fabricated weighting system which makes comparing scores impossible and those who do, stupid.

    2. Velocity is 92 on Metacritic based on just 4 reviews, GOW:COO is 91 based on 79 and is still the most critically acclaimed game on PSP. Once more than 50 reviews come in for Velocity it will go under 90%.

    3. This site always trolls God of War so it isn’t surprising that it would call a crappy indie game better than GOW:COO, this is that same site that kept trolling the most beloved, critically acclaimed and best-selling game in its genre of all time, God of War III. Shows how out of touch with real gamers the writers for this dodgy site are.
