Despite United Front Games’ claims that they are not working on a Vita version of the upcoming LittleBigPlanet Karting, evidence continues to pop up suggesting otherwise. The latest snippet comes from a promotional display board in a branch of Australian games retailer EB Games, where the game appears in a list of upcoming titles for the portable.
Most intriguingly though, the boxart on the listing is not what we’ve seen for the PS3 iteration of the game – the logo is different (and doesn’t appear to be a fan-created one from a cursory search), although the actual artwork is a mix of regular LBP stickers and some Karting key art. Looks like there might be an ‘artwork not final’ note in the corner though.
Either way, evidence seems to be mounting up for a Vita release of Sackboy’s next outing – apparently it isn’t just the one store with the display – so if United Front isn’t behind it, maybe Sony’s racing experts at Liverpool or regular support group at Santa Monica are.
Guess we’ll be finding out in a couple of weeks.
Update: EB Games have posted a correction on their Facebook page:
Whoops! Just as a quick heads up to all our customers that play PlayStation Vita – our team got their wires crossed and accidentally displayed a pic in store of LittleBigPlanet Karting for PS Vita. It should be LittleBigPlanet for PS Vita. To clarify, LBP Karting will ONLY be available on PS3.
Well there you go! That Vita-box-aspect-ratio’d art still looks shifty, but for now it looks like the game is still exclusive to PS3.
