Hold Your Snake In The Palm Of Your Hand

Remember that opening scene of Metal Gear Solid 2? On the George Washington bridge in New York? I do. I remember lots about that game. In fact, I rented Zone of The Enders repeatedly and never played it, just to get access to the MGS2 demo disc that was with it. I played that demo level for hours and hours.

Anyway, enough of my nostalgia, let’s look at this Gamespot video which features a man playing with his snake. Fnarr.

As far as I know, this is the first time we’ve seen MGS2 and the special new Vita features on video? It looks really good, doesn’t it? Is anyone else as excited about this as I am?

God, hurry up, June.

  1. Never played 2 or 3 so I’m looking forward to playing them.

  2. I think covering the news is starting to make Peter a bit mental.

    • Nah, he’s probably always been so smutty that he can’t resist a series of knob jokes. Peter, I laughed and smiled, it was good smut. But whose June?

    • ha ha, loved that headline. Can’t beat yours those Tuff

  3. It looks great but I still can’t get it because theres no PW! And ie got the ps3 versions…..

  4. Me & Youles are excited lol I will speak for him while he is out lol.

Lol the title sounds so wrong

    • Here I am! :O

      And for £22.85 (ShopTo) its a no-brainer!

      • Is shopTo reliable never heard of them

      • They seem so. To be fair it’s only £24.99 (I think) on Play.com

      • Here’s hopinh the downloadable version is fairly reasonable. It seems optimistic but the release of other classic HD titles seems to be alright from what I know.

  5. Can’t wait for this. I don’t mind too much that PW isn’t on there. At least we get MGS 2 and 3 portable now

    • I wouldn’t mind, except transfarring doesn’t work between Vita and PS3! UGH!

  6. It looks good, but i haven’t been able to get into a MGS game, and I’ve bought MGS4 and Peace Walker… :l

    • Same i got MGS4 and even tho i did finish it i couldn’t get to grips withit, maybe its because i didn’t play the other games i don’t know, its one of those rare games id rather watch someone else play then play myself.

  7. So I’m going to have to start mugging people so I can afford a Vita?

  8. Looks like they’ve implemented some good stuff with a purpose rather than just as a gimmick. Not entirely sure about weapon selection as the menu seemed rather small for my fat fingers, but we shall see. Stopped watching five minutes from the end though as this guy really sucks :P

  9. I really want this, but I’m not sure if I should get the vita version for the portability or the ps3 version for PW… :-S
    Maybe both?

    • Portability is a definite plus, but Peace Walker plays brilliantly on PS3.
With right analogue control for aiming and proper PSN support for online coop I love it!
I hope they release a Vita version with these improvements.
Also I’d recommend both, that’s what I’m doing!

    • If it’s one or the other, go PS3. More bang for your buck and PW is flipping fantastic. Me? I’m getting both.

    • Thanks for chiming in guys, I think I’ll get the PS3 version first, and then maybe pick it up for the Vita for a second play-through if I like the games. I’ve never played a proper MGS see, only the GBC and N-Gage games. Or I’ll get both to try out transfarring. :-)

      • GBC one was good, as close to MGS1 on a handheld at the time as it could’ve been. If u remember it much then you should b fairly well prepared!

      • I’ll be getting MGS1 as soon as Vita gets PSOne support. Only ever played a bit of the GBC game and hardly remember the story. Its one of those franchises I’ve always wanted to get into, but I never had the platforms for it. And after seeing that video I’ve decided to get it for Vita first as the visuals will appear less dated on the smaller screen, and then I’ll get the PS3 version for comparison and transfarring reasons… And PW HD.

  10. June 29th seems so far away… :(
