UK Charts: Ghost Recon Sneaks Into Top Spot

No real surprises this week as the big new release takes the top spot. Despite its problems, Ghost Recon Future Soldier is well worth a play so the fact that it has leapfrogged Rockstar’s excellent Max Payne 3 for a week is good news.

Third and Fourth places go to new releases too, in slightly more niche genres. Dragon’s Dogma gives Capcom a nice early summer hit and will no doubt be keeping people looting dungeons instead of burning to a crisp in this min heatwave we’ve got at the moment. Dirt Showdown brings large-scale car destruction back to our consoles and Nintendo’s new release, Mario Tennis, lands at number eleven.

The last two Call of Duty games are still inside the top fifteen. Who is buying those that doesn’t already have them?

Here it is, your UK games chart for the past week.

  1. wow I only own two if the games in the top 20 :o Hoping Max payne drops a bit so I can find it for a cheaper price.

    • £30 today at Zavvi?

      • Should mention not looking to get it until exams are over :p thats a good price but could be less in a month.

      • Lol ahh ok, speaking from experience that is a good move :P

  2. For once not a bad looking chart really. Nice to see Sniper Elite still ranking high, though I personally haven’t found a store that stocks it yet so I’m quite surprised, heh.
Price drop of [Prototype2] must be doing it some favours, £24 quid at Argos at the moment :)
Still undecided on whether to pick up Ghost Recon. Love the series but the TSA review has put me off a bit. Might just wait for a price drop in June/July.

  3. Almost feels like Starhawk is the biggest flopp this generation :(.

    • Hardly a surprise. Were it not for TSA writing ~1000 articles about how great it is I wouldn’t have even known what it was and when it was coming out. Sony may make great games but they sure do suck at marketing.

      • Ageed!! As a Sony developer, I would leave

    • I’ve been to three different supermarkets on multiple occasions since launch and haven’t spotted a single copy of Starhawk :/

    • Sony has to step their game up in terms of marketing. Starhawk deserves better than this, much better. Top 5 better.

  4. and only one new ip.

  5. Great to see Dragon’s Dogma up there as well as Sniper Elite.

  6. No sorcery love in the charts, tried the demo think i may get tht this week.

    • Didn’t even make the top 40, but Doctor Who (which is currentlt exclusive to PS3) went in at 34.

    • Personally I reckon its a combination of it only being a few hours long and that a lot of people have simply given up on the Move. A little too late to the party, as it were.

  7. sad that Sorcery is not in there it is a great move game.

  8. Sorcery for me tomorrow

  9. Crazy to think that Dragons Dogma is the only game there from a non-established franchise!
