TSA E3 Bingo: Your Picks

What the collective 'you' considers most likely.

There are just a handful of days left until we can finally stop speculating and instead sit up all night finding out what’s going on in L.A. (or you can just read about it here on TSA the following day). We have already looked at the staff’s top picks for the year’s biggest, now it’s time to see what you’ve come up with.

There were a total of 33 entries this year, which is only fractionally over a third of last year’s, though it was good to see the bulk of those are TSA and E3 Bingo regulars.  Some of you clearly chose to get as many of the twelve as you could from the Sony-related choices, whilst others seemed to carefully spread their picks out amongst all or most of the sections.

Eight of the choices available were not picked by anyone and we will get to those at the end of the post.  For now let’s take a look at what you did pick and how popular those picks were.  Here then are the items that you picked in order of popularity.  The number in brackets at the end is how many times it was picked.

9. The Last of Us trailer or gameplay footage shown. {23}

The TSA Team's top six were 33, 42, 9, 29, 36, 47.
That is your most popular pick by some margin and one of those I suspect is as close to a ‘dead cert’ as any in the list.

33. Call of Duty game for the PS Vita is named and shown. {18}
20. Sorcery is playable on the show floor. {16}
36. A new Kinect game featuring dancing is played at Microsoft’s press conference. {16}
6. Starhawk trailer or gameplay footage shown. {15}
11. Dust 514 trailer or gameplay footage shown. {15}
29. New PS Vita Killzone title named and shown. {14}
30. PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale announced for PS Vita. {14}

While we pretty much know that PS A-SBR is coming to the PS Vita, we are still awaiting the official announcement so the 14 of you who voted for #30 need not fret yet.

7. Sorcery trailer or gameplay footage shown. {12}
25. Dust 514 release date announced (better than the Q3 2012 we already know). {12}
13. Kevin Butler DOES NOT make an appearance. {11}
42. Forza Horizon trailer or gameplay footage shown. {11}
55. Legend of Zelda Wii U game is teased or revealed. {11}
23. Zone of the Enders HD trailer of gameplay footage shown. {10}
3. New The Last Guardian trailer or gameplay footage shown. {9}
10. The Last of Us played on stage. {9}

Given that Naughty Dog and their latest game are regulars on the E3 stage, I am a little surprised that #10 did not attract more votes; especially as we know that ND are plotting something fan-pleasing for E3. It is also interesting to see that the ‘yes KB’ and ‘no KB’ votes are on an even footing.

12. Kevin Butler DOES make an appearance. {9}
54. Assassin’s Creed III Wii U trailer or gameplay footage shown. {9}
59. Thief 4 (Thi4f) trailer or gameplay footage shown. {9}
14. PlayStation 3 160GB console MSRP dropped to $199.99 ($50 cheaper than now). {8}
39. Xbox 360′s successor announced at Microsoft’s press conference. {8}
57. Valve show a Half Life 3 trailer. {8}

With eight votes apiece we get to the first two hardware-related predictions, #14 and #39.  I was wondering what to make of the fact you thought them both as likely as each other before noticing you considered them as likely as Valve surprising the planet with some Half Life 3 news.  I guess what you are saying then is that there will be no PS3 price drop or new Xbox at E3.

22. The Last of Us is playable on the show floor. {7}
15. PS Vita Wi-Fi only model MSRP dropped to $199.99 ($50 cheaper than now). {6}
18. Agent trailer or gameplay footage shown. {6}
19. At least a tentative release window (season & year or better) announced for Agent. {6}
34. Warrior’s Lair (née Ruin) release date announced. {6}
43. Kinect Sports 3 trailer or gameplay footage shown. {6}
60. EA announce Mirror’s Edge 2. {6}

Personally I really hope the 6 of you who voted for #60 are right.

5. Dylan Jobe appears on stage to talk about Starhawk. {5}
31. PS Vita PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale supports cross-platform play with PS3. {5}
37. Crytek’s Ryse played at Microsoft’s press conference. {5}
46. Monster Hunter 4 trailer or gameplay footage shown. {5}
47. Pikmin 3 trailer or gameplay footage shown. {5}
51. Super Mario Galaxy 3 will be a Wii U launch title. {5}
52. Aliens: Colonial Marines shown running on the Wii U highlighting using the tablet controller as the motion tracker. {5}
1. Kazunori Yamauchi appears on-stage to talk about Gran Turismo Vita. {4}
8. Sorcery played on stage. {4}
16. Killzone 4 trailer or gameplay footage shown. {4}
24. Ni No Kuni trailer or gameplay footage shown. {4}

It is a little disappointing to see #24 so far down the list.  I would hope that, especially given the lukewarm reception in Japan, the publisher would be looking to raise awareness.  Note that it doesn’t have to be a new trailer, they could just show the recent English-language one.

26. New PS Vita Final Fantasy title announced. {4}
50. Super Mario Galaxy 3 is one of the playable Wii U games. {4}
27. New PS Vita Syphon Filter title announced. {3}
28. New PS Vita Monster Hunter title announced. {3}
35. Dust 514 PS Vita functionality shown. {3}
40. Xbox-branded, gaming-focused Windows Phone revealed at Microsoft’s press conference. {3}
44. Xbox 360 4GB MSRP dropped to $169.99 ($30 cheaper than now). {3}
56. Valve officially reveal their ‘Steambox’ hardware. {3}
58. THQ reveal a new trailer for Guillermo del Toro’s Insane (or inSANE/InSane/INSANE/IИSANE). {3}
32. New PS Vita Metal Gear Solid title announced. {2}
48. Revealed, a 3DS can be used as a Wii U controller. {1}
53. Wii U Battlefield game (EA/DICE) trailer or gameplay footage shown. {1}

Lastly here are the eight that none of you graced with a vote.  I was a little surprised to see #17 down here but other than that I think you have done reasonably well at identifying some of the least likely, except perhaps for a Kinect price drop.

2. Kazunori Yamauchi plays Gran Turismo Vita on stage. {0}
4. The Last Guardian played on stage. {0}
17. Gran Turismo 6 trailer or gameplay footage shown. {0}
21. The Last Guardian is playable on the show floor. {0}
38. New Xbox 360 announced at Microsoft’s press conference that has no DVD-ROM drive. {0}
41. Milo returns from his time in the media wilderness to star in a new Lionhead game. {0}
45. Xbox 360 Kinect plus game (e.g., Kinect Adventures) pack MSRP dropped to $129.99 ($20 cheaper than now). {0}
49. A side-scrolling Metroid game is announced for the 3DS.  {0}

And that’s it for the picks. By the end of next week we’ll know just how well your predictive skills work…

    Nice :) I still think that #36 (A new Kinect game featuring dancing is played at Microsoft’s press conference) and #37 (Crytek’s Ryse played at Microsoft’s press conference) could be the same game ;)

      I hope not. And to answer the question in your email, it was a difficult decision to leave PixelJunk 2-1 off the list but I’ve no idea where 4am fits in or whether they’re even sticking with the game numbering they started with any more. Of course, now they’ll probably reveal 2-1 at E3…

    I’m really annoyed I forgot to enter this.
    First one I’ve missed since I joined the TSA community. :(

      Why not post a thread in the forum for those who were too late to enter, at least you can post your predictions and see how you compare with the results. There isn’t any prize anyway and your prediction will still be valid, just not part of the main Bingo stats.

    Damnit I totally missed you were doing E3 Bingo. Some reminders would have been nice, it kinda drowned in 100000 news about E3 rumors…
