SCEA’s Jeff Rubenstein has confirmed that we’ll get PlayStation Plus’ June Update on Tuesday Morning, California time, so expect the European list to arrive at roughly the same sort of time.
Hopefully.
All kinds of rumours have been flying around regarding PlayStation Plus of late, although it appears that the hype produced from certain SCEE staff has been dialled down a little, with the big prompt to buy into Plus reduced to – we assume – ensuring that people also pick up May’s content rather than anything in particular like a price increase for the service.
It worked though: I picked up three month’s of Plus yesterday, just in case. That may have been a little premature but that’s hype for you, right?
Regardless, Plus is expected to be a big part of Sony’s E3 conference tonight/tomorrow (it’s on at 2AM UK time) and whatever’s happening we’ll let you know as soon as we’re able. Our bet is on a big list of games to pick from.
Call it a hunch.

I’ll try and stay up to watch it!
love PS+ now so more stuff is a bonus.
It would be brill if they had some bonuses for Day 1 plussers – I’ve had + continuously since Day 1 :D
Yeah, mee too. Something to reward our loyalty would be great
Yeah as Mike says I hope us day 1-ers get something good.
I don’t think that’ll be happening, sorry. Look at others services (Sky, Virgin, internet providers, even your car insurance), all their offers are designed to tempt in new customers.
Day 1? Pfft no, defo the first year *hehe
Same here and I love it, so many free games
Same, day 1 subscriber, but all of the hype and speculation is for the benefit of possible new members that might consider joining, I’d imagine.
Jeez, I hate that word ‘plussers’, it sounds like a disease, kinda palsy-leprosy related…..oooer! :P
Surely we’ll get on weds as usual in eu?
That’s a good shout, the US store updates Tuesday anyway.
that’s what i’d expect.
They sometimes announce the update before that though.
I really don’t see it being a big bunch of games to choose from, they said “the future of playstation plus”, which doesn’t really describe just a big list of games.
Here’s my guess, all future releases will be able to be purchased on the store and they’re going to use onlive for plussers to have a free trial of any game, say 30 mins or so.
I’ve abstained from PS+ing, pending the e3 announcement, I’m hoping its something good to entice me in.
*cough_vita content_cough*
We’ll soon know I suppose. As an PSN+ member pretty much since day 1, I’m curious what they are going to bring to the table. Hoping it includes the Vita.
It’ll update Wednesday for us, as always:
i just had a thought, what? two in one week? what are the odds. ^_^
what if all these maintenance periods we’ve been having lately were part of getting the psn ready for a streaming service?
Really? have you not read all the speculation about this for the past two weeks?
I’m hanging fire until we know exactly what’s new in the re-launch. I doubt they’d be anything exclusive for existing PS+’ers, the whole point of the relaunch is clearly to tempt new customers, so there’s no point in Sony antagonising prospective customers by saying “well if you already had it, look what you could of got”.
