Splinter Cell: Blacklist Gameplay Shown at E3

Ubisoft has shown the next game in the Splinter Cell franchise at Microsoft’s E3 conference. The game will be set on the Iraq/Iran borders and features Fisher apparently working with an agency again.

The gameplay features a reworked movement system in which Fisher fluidly moved over barriers and cover whilst simultaneously shooting people in the face. Mark and execute is back and looks to again be a big focus. It looks like there are a few new gadgets to play with too; explosives were used to blow in a door, naturally confusing the guards inside; and something electrical was used to incapacitate guards who were stood in water.

Kinect is supported, in the gameplay shown it was used to attract guards and call in air support using voice recognition, which was rather cool. Naturally, the game’s very pretty. All in all, it’s pretty exciting for fans of Conviction, though those looking for a return to the super-stealthy game prior to Conviction probably won’t be too happy.

The game is currently set for Spring 2013. Console-exclusivity was not mentioned, even though Conviction was a Microsoft Exclusive.

  1. Looked awesome! hopefully it come to the PS3 though

    • They never said it was “coming exclusively to Xbox”, so I think it will.

  2. Wow never thought they could destroy the serie even more.

  3. This looked fantastic! Really good use of what I would call Assassin’s Creed game play with guns. I’m excited for this one for sure.

  4. Looks good although i hope that gunfights are optional due to Splinter Cell being a stealth franchise.

Update: Ubisoft has released the first details on Splinter Cell: Blacklist, announcing the sixth console title in the series will hit the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

  6. How great! Ghost Recon is having a sequel already! WOOOOOHOOOO
Seriously, now: Why isn’t Michael Ironside voicing Sam?

  7. i can see it now, you’re playing the game, sneaking through a warehouse, there’s always a warehouse.
suddenly somebody comes into your living room and says something to you.
then all the guards in the warehouse know where you are. ^_^

    • Used to happen in the co-op on one of the older xbox ones, could be quite amusing at times – especially if your phone rang and a guard goes “what was that?” Just as you crept on him

  8. I’m guessing this is set many years before the previous game? Sam Fisher looks younger and isn’t voiced by Michael Ironside. It looked quite good but i’ll have to see more before I decide to buy.

  9. It looks to be dropping on PS3… niiiice.
