The big news in Store Update Land this week is the next big game for the PS Vita. Gravity Rush hits the digital distribution streams and if you forgot to pre-order but still want that lovely DLC, SCEE has you covered. You’ll still get the Military Missions DLC for free if you buy from the PlayStation Network Store before next Tuesday, the 19th.
Gravity Rush isn’t the only thing to get excited about though, the Vita sale we mentioned earlier in the week begins today and runs until the 4th of July but the contents of the sale will be rotated each week. Those discounts aren’t limited to Vita, either. There are some nice little discounts on PlayStation 3 games to tempt you.
The next Vita game in the new AR Play range launches today too, hot on the heels of those tabletop tanks. PulzAR is a kind of 3D, AR puzzle game where you can place objects and move around to get a truly immersive look around the arenas. It’s cheaper than most Minis can manage and comes with trophies, which is nice. Table Football has some DLC too, if you can’t get enough of Vita AR.

What’s the DLC for Escape Plan? More levels?
18 levels, 7 varying modes, adds a “Costumes” sections, 4 trophies.
I was quite surprised this and Bang Bang Racing weren’t covered on TSA (that I noticed), since they both seem pretty decent!
TDU2 DLC… am I reading that right?!
Yep – 2nd week in a row! (well, it was either last week or the week before anyway)
Is anyone still playing it? Was a bit crap.
It wasn’t bad, I really enjoyed it. It was just a shame that the main element, being an MMO racer didn’t work due to the online system being buggered. Loved driving around in single player though, doing all the races and buying cars.
It had potential to be a great game online, the single player wasn’t too bad, but unfortunately the multiplayer was broken beyond repair, with no sign of a fix so I traded it.
Quite tempted to get Two Worlds II at that price, but then again, could probably find it elsewhere much cheaper.
Same applies to Gravity Rush. ASDA or Zavvi have it somewhere for £24.99.
Will likely pick up The Walking Dead (full) and maybe those pair of AR games for the Vita.
The Walking Dead?? Did i miss something there??
still no walking dead pt 2, dont think i will bother with episodic gaming again, unless i pick up the full bundle post release of all parts.
That’s exactly my issue with it too – I can only compare it to those collectable magazines that litter the shelves in the new year that promise 42 volumes & a working model of the human body at the end of it all, but they don’t do so well & the run stops, leaving you with nothing more than 2 magazines & a semi functional penis.
lol, I was thinking maybe like ‘Joey’ or ”Crossroads’ – both of which I am happy to say I havenet directly invested in.
Part 1 of the comment only £2.99*
*99 subsequent parts priced at £12.99 each month available from all good news agents
What did you think of the 1st episode? I still can’t really justify buying it just yet. ou make a valid point about ‘episodic gaming’ but do you not think that the majority of games play out this way? Most games end with the clear indication of a sequel, trequel etc.
I thought it was great, Tell tale games are more interactive movies than games, so i was prepared for it, which is what a lot of people have complained about. I am over 30 now and been playing games since speccy 48k days, playing this was the first time in ages where i have ‘jumped’ at the action on screen. I had a massive smile on my face and went straight back to the beginning for a 2nd playthrough after completing it.
The art style is spot on, plot has had a good start, and the characters are a good mix. The themes are very adult, and it doesnt skimp on the gore. I am particularly looking forward to seeing how my actions influence the outcomes later in the game.
I agree with your point that many games leave some form of open end, but i dont think they are episodic. £3 per story/episode is way different to £40 – EG uncharted series, all full games in their own right, you dont need to own/have played any of the others to access the any 1 part, although you will miss out on some of the in jokes.
Did anyone buy the full bundle with the promise of a free dynamic theme? I did and cant see it anywhere :(
Agree with that you put – I also thought the directing was very good, especially the begining (don’t want to give too much away), particularly since it was originally a comic.
Once I made the purchase I got the next screen which had 2 items for download (the theme and first episode) – perhaps you missed it when it was there and now isn’t on your download list? Can you find episode 1 on your download list?
yeah I have found it, I don’t remember downloading it, but its in my themes. FYI- its not that great if anyone is thinking of purchasing for that reason, the game is ace though
Really, I quite like the theme – it’s got several different screens too, rather than just 1 or 2.
Sometimes adapting TV into Game can hinder peoples view but your reply seems to wash away those fears with this game. I am very tempted as its payday tommorow :D
Yeah I totally agree about the price difference between that of a full game and Walking Dead, alot of people didn’t understand why the WD game is’t just a full game with all the episodes intertwined, I think, they were trying to build a similar tension and build up, anticipation etc for each episode like with the TV show. It’s taken way too long to release the second episode for this to ever work, now people like yourself just feel totally shortchanged.
At least there’s Vita stuff there this week. I won’t be picking anything up (completely skint) but I might have to pick up PulzAR soon.
When will we see Max Payne 2!! I need to have the complete collection to avoid OCD related meltdown. I like the looks of Babel Rising, I need a nice light hearted PSN game to take me away from the fustrations of PES 2012. That game winds me up ‘to de core’, although I’m happy that Vita seems to be frequently supported on the PSN atm, I am a little concerned about what the PS3 is getting. Maybe i’m just being anxious.
I just went on the PSstore via my PS3 to purchase some Vita content and managed to bag the Escape Plan DLC for free… there were two options for me… pay £0.21 or have it for free :p Has this happened to anyone else?
P.S. Marvel pinball DLC seems to be absent :(
- Matt -
Thanks for the heads-up, just grabbed this for free too – which happens to be my favourite price!!
LOL, you beat me to it. Yeah, I noticed the Marvel pinball dlc was missing, but after some investigating it appears that it’s not supposed to be out until next week.
Zen Pinball 2 is coming out next week.
Not according to Zen’s website. The Avengers dlc is out next week, there’s still no release date for Zen Pinball 2.
Ah I see, thought it was gonna come out the same day as the new DLC as they originally said. Shame was looking forward to playing Pinball on my Vita. Would of been nice to have Pinball Arcade but who knows when that is coming out.
Yeah, it was supposed to, but they’re just releasing the dlc for marvel pinball whilst we wait.
Agreed, pinball on vita should be pretty sweet. Hopefully they manage to get them both put soon.
Sweet mate. Got this for free too. Weird it’s on there twice. I downloaded and installed but not sure where to play?
On the off chance that you’ve still not figured it out, once you are on the main title screen, touch the top left tv, this allows you to choose from either of the two dlc packs (Asylum and Bakuki’s Lair).
The bottom tv gives you access to the new changing room which allows you to pick new outfits for Lil and Laarg.
Er, I’m not sure if someone has ballsed up or if there is a difference between them, but under the Asylum dlc for Escape Plan there is a buy option for 21p and also a Free option. They both have the same product description which is why I’m confused.
Hmmm, I’ve downloaded the free option and it appears to be the complete dlc. I think someone has made a bit of a mistake.
Yup – same here :D Although I’d have gladly paid £0.21. Once purchased the red bag icon appears by both options, so hopefully this is good news! :)
SCEE messed up?? Wow, that nearly never happens… Well, it doesn’t happen on days that don’t end in a ‘y’ anyway. :)
i think they’re stretching the definition of “classic” with that football game there.
it’s one of those Midas shovelware titles isn’t it?
i’ve played a few of those and they’ve never been better than mediocre.
i might give the demos a try but other than that a quiet week for me, but then i’ve still got the games i got last week to finish.
just bought escape plan and the dlc had a free option so got that as well.
