THQ Transform “Enter The Dominatrix” Into Full Saints Row Sequel

The “Enter The Dominatrix” DLC, originally planned as an expansion for Saints Row: The Third, will become a standalone retail release next year as THQ’s new boss Jason Rubin starts to make changes.

“When I looked at the Enter The Dominatrix expansion in production at Volition, I was blown away by the ideas and desire to expand the fiction of the franchise,” he said. “I asked the team what it could achieve given more time, more resources, and a broader scope for the project. We all agreed that we wanted to play that game.

“When it comes to Saints Row, it’s clear our fans want bigger, better and even more over the top, and that’s why Enter The Dominatrix will now be incorporated into a vastly expanded, fully fledged sequel, scheduled for calendar 2013.”

  1. Ok then! I didn’t really like SR3 very much, simply because there was literally no challenge in the game, so if they could correct that and still keep the over-the-top humor, then I’m down for this.

  2. so it’s like the off the record game with dead rising 2? Maybe they decided to make it a full game because they need the money?

    • But surely if that was the case, they would need to just get it out of the door now – What i took from the above was that it was a bit like Off The Record (so they could issue it now & could still make money), but they now want to expand on the new ideas & make a proper sequel. In the end, that’s probably a better idea as people are less likely to think they are playing the same game.

That said, i still would have bought it as an exapansion.

      • yeah but from the description it was just the exact same city with some new enemies and missions.
they may add a little more now they’re gonna turn it into a full game, but i doubt they’ll be creating a whole new city for this.

so i’m guessing there’s more profit in a forty pound game than a five to ten pound expansion pack.

reusing the city like that would be ok for an expansion pack, but if they’re going to sell it as a whole new game.

well, let’s just say i’m getting a distinct crackdown 2 vibe here.

      • Doesn’t really matter to me if i am honest – I had such a good time with SR3, i will quite happily play it again (albeit in a slightly different form) to re-experience it & bag me some new trophies to boot! :)

  3. Torn, I think it’d be a nice plan however Saints Row 3 didn’t really do much compared to the last game plus side missions for a story misson?! Whoever decided that should have some sense.

I’d prefer SR3 to be expanded with a new city or island anyway.

  4. Not the first company to do this. RDR Undead Nightmare and GTA Lost and the damned etc are good examples when this is done right so if they put enough effort in and create an additional game that will be worth the money, I will pony up the dough.

  5. Add a multiplayer element for gods sake! If SR3 had this from the start, in my eyes, it would’ve been a brilliantly fun game, still is mind.

    • Good god, i hope not – I take it you never played GTA online then??
