The ‘intermittent issue’ that was plaguing the PSN yesterday turned out to be unplanned maintenance.
In fact it was so unplanned no one at Sony seemed to be aware of it and referred to the problem as an ‘intermittent issue’. That must have took a serious amount of unplanning.
The ‘maintenance’ has has now been completed.
Join us next Thursday when Sony announce and then cancel a series on intermittent maintenance periods, planned, unplanned and as special treat, one that is hiding in a cupboard ready to burst out as a hilarious surprise!

In other words, they had planned to do it on thursday all along and the new teaboy accidentally posted the notice on the wrong day and they cba to change it so they did the maintance anyway.
Unplanned maintenance when they said they were looking into issues or something? I smell a rat, perhaps if they hadn’t lied about such matters before I might believe them, but I don’t anymore.
Odd they cancelled maintenance the day before too.
Wish there was a way I could pay Sony about £24.99 a year for a network that actually worked & some advanced party/lobby features, that’d be a great idea.

That bug in PS Home, yeah it’s been bugging me for AGES now…
Thanks TC – I now have it in my head that Sony’s servers are in fact run by Baldrick.
a former Sony employee once told me that the PS3 was held together with bubblegum and rubber bands (he was supposedly referring to the implementation of trophies), maybe what he actually meant is that is how the network is held together o_O
