Arkham City Writer Says He's Not Working On A Sequel

What are Rocksteady working on?

Paul Dini, scriptwriter on both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City  has tweeted that  he is not working with Rocksteady on further Batman games.

‘Kinda hoped I’d be doing another Arkham game in London during the Olympics. Esp, as I had a good source for tx. Ah, well,’ he said.

He sounds like he wants to though – he later tweeted ‘Are you working on another arkham game? No,’ and ‘I would if I could, but it’s not my call.’

Of course he may be sitting there with his pants ablaze and this is a ruse but if Rocksteady are setting the next game in the 1950’s as rumoured perhaps they drafted in new writers.

Arkham City was released in October last year so Rocksteady must be hard at work on something – but what?

Maybe they’re just not using him for the scriptwriting this time. That’s all.

I don’t think a 50s Batman game could work due to him using all of the latest tech as well as the Batsuit not being that protective as it is shown to be in the games. And without a majority of his gadgets, it wouldn’t be a fun game as it would end up being a bit repitive. That said, it does get wrecked so prehaps we won’t notice the difference. I really hope they do a Gotham City game as they would have unlimited creative freedom with it and could just focus on a few villains instead of every bat villian that they shoved into AC. Or they could be very predictable and make Harley Quinn be the main villian as it would be interesting to see what she could do besides the typical, “The Dork Knight returns” and then sends a lot of goons against the Bats.

Actually, has there been a recent story arc set in the 50s? As i know DC loves to reboot everything every few years.

I wonder if they plan on giving Batman a rest and are currnetly working on either a Nightwing game or a Superman game? but with a decent reason for the man of steel to not be overpowered.
