PS3 Owners Happy To Wait As Tony Hawk HD Tops The Download Charts

Your monthly downloads. In a list.

SCEE have finally started listing the PSN download charts, and even though there’re no numbers involved, it’s still interesting reading with this month confirming that PS3 owners were more than happy to wait for Tony Hawk’s 360 exclusive window to finish, the game jumping to the top spot.

Second place is Tokyo Jungle – which we loved – and then the evergreen Journey in third. The presence of the Walking Dead Season Pass in fourth, given the issues Sony Europe seem to be having with it, is rather odd, but there you go.

  1. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD
  3. Journey
  4. The Walking Dead – Season Pass
  5. Jet Set Radio
  6. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater – HD Edition
  7. The Walking Dead – Episode 1: A New Day
  8. I Am Alive
  9. Resident Evil 4
  10. Machinarium

SCEE are also listing full game downloads, too, with FIFA 13 predictably enough on top. We’re assuming that PlayStation Plus freebies are included in the list, given the presence of LittleBigPlanet 2 and Darksiders.

  1. FIFA 13
  2. Red Dead Redemption: Undead Nightmare
  3. Borderlands 2
  4. One Piece: Pirate Warriors
  5. Batman: Arkham City
  6. Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City
  7. NASCAR 2011: The Game
  8. LittleBigPlanet 2
  9. London 2012 – The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games
  10. Darksiders

And on the Vita? It’s Ecolibrium up top, followed by LittleBigPlanet.  The rest of the chart seems to be made up from cheaper PSN-based goodies though, which will hopefully let publishers know that we don’t always want to pay £40 for our mobile games.

  1. Ecolibrium
  2. LittleBigPlanet PS Vita
  3. Zen Pinball 2
  4. Motorstorm RC
  5. Treasures of Montezuma Blitz
  6. Sound Shapes
  7. Escape Plan
  8. Gravity Rush
  9. Sunflowers
  10. Table Top Tanks

Hopefully we’ll get a PS Mobile chart next month.

Tony Hawk did an AMA on reddit yesterday. Have a read, he’s a legend:

This is probably based on number of downloads rather than money taken on items.

      Although i could be wrong.

I’m delighted to see Journey continue to sell well as it means there’ll be plenty of online companions when i return to it. I completed it a few times but deliberately didn’t seek out all the collectables and took a self-imposed break for a few months – so that it’ll be ‘fresh’ when i play it again and i’ll still have something to play for. My one concern was that there might not be anyone else playing it at this stage so i wouldn’t get to play as a ‘guide’.

Given that both Ecolibrium and Zen Pinball 2 were free downloads which pretty much most Vita owners must have grabbed, that should indicate decent sales for LBP Vita.

Thanks for the offer mate but sadly i think it works on a kind of random basis as to whom you connect with online for Journey, although it shows you who you connected with at the end. Anyway not to worry, part of the magic is that unknown factor ;)

Sales would be even higher for THPS HD if there was split screen!

Looks fairly promising for further THPS HD DLC then.

I like the variety of games in the PSN charts. Makes me pleased that it’s not gone FPS/sequel nuts.

Downloaded Ecolibrium for the vita but deleted it after a week, i found i couldn’t progress through the game without having to fork out money for different items, pay to win basically which i don’t like.

Meh, no real surprises. Damn you PS+ users for getting free games to wreck the download charts lol
