USA Today have published a preview of Angry Birds: Star Wars ahead of the full reveal later today. In case you have not yet guessed, the game fuses the gameplay of the popular Angry Birds Space with the characters of Star Wars.
“They are not Angry Birds dressed up as Star Wars characters,” says Paul Southern, VP of Licensing and Consumer Products Marketing for Lucasfilm Ltd. “They are characters in their own right.”
Paul went on to say that the Red Bird will now be turned into Luke Skywalker as “They’ve got personalities which are kind of similar.”
Yes, of course they have.
The other birds will be transformed into Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Han Solo and Obi-Wan Kenobi. I am sure you do not need me to tell you which bird will be which character as it’s obvious from their personalities. Isn’t it?
The smug pigs that make up the game’s bad guy quota will also be given a makeover and turned into a “pig-esque Vader and his pig-esque Stormtroopers.”
Remember kids, this not a massive cash in which they slap Star Wars costumes on birds, it’s a character driven gaming experience.

Something which shows no signs of slowing down, it’s an unstoppable juggernaut.
BTW. Bad Piggies is even better, a brilliant game.

All cynicism aside, they might churn out a good game from this. God knows most 1st world countries are used to shameless advertising in all corners of media and entertainment.
