As the review embargo for Far Cry 3 lifts, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to read pages of text about the game. But we wanted to spend a little time showing it to you.
We thought we’d try to do something a little bit different with Far Cry 3 so we’ve made a small collection of videos that will hopefully give you an impression of what it plays like and how it looks. These videos were all captured from the Xbox 360 review code and are all from the opening couple of hours of the game so any potential spoilers will be extremely light.
If you do want to read early impressions of the game, you can have a look at our preview here.
This first video shows the opening of the game, intro video and some characterisation as well as the initial, very scripted tutorial to get you used to the way stealth works.
Next up, this is a bit of speeded up footage of the day and night cycle, along with a nice rain storm in there. Actual length of this process was around 20 minutes but the video gets it over with much quicker than that.
One of the central mechanics to the large open world map is the need to assault radio masts in order to unveil some of your map and help the local economy. In this next video, I talk you through my assault on the second tower in the game.
Finally, to wind down a bit, let’s take a nice gentle flight over a portion of the map. I may have said one slightly NSFW word in the voice over for this one. Sorry about that.
