Awesome SIXAXIS Controlled Transformer With Wi-Fi Camera Feed To iPad

A transforming car isn’t something we would normally cover but it is Friday (for me) and there is no news. Anyway, the robot is controlled by a PlayStation SIXAXIS controller and feeds video to an iPad – so that makes it a PS3/iPad accessory and therefore it falls under the remit of TSA.

Hurray!

Say hello to the ‘BRAVEROBOTICS 1/12 scale Transform Robot Version 7.2’ or, as I call him, Bob. The Japanese company unveiled a preview of their newest model and will show the latest revision at the Google sponsored ‘Maker Faire’ in Tokyo next week.

Bob is a fully functioning remote controlled car which at a press of a button transforms into a fully functioning robot. Watch the close up views of the transformation sequence and you will see that it is an incredibly complex procedure with panels sliding about and wheels popping into place.

Once in robot mode Bob can walk forwards and backwards, move both arms and best of all, fire missiles. Both modes feature a wireless video feed which can be displayed on an iPad.

A wireless camera, a speedy car and a missile firing robot all in one – cats of the world, prepare to be terrorised!

  1. I have GOT to get me one of those bad boys!!

    • I’ll see you in the queue! :)

  2. Technically it’s not a SIXAXIS controller (some knock-off).
Other than that it’s not a proper transformer because when it transforms into a robot, if doesn’t magically get covered in major scratches which disappear when it turns back into a car, you know, like the Transformers movies.

    • Awesome pedantry. :D

      • I love the films and all, but that bugs me.

        Perfect car…
        *transform*
…car’s been dragged along the floor upside-down…

        …perfect car.

  3. Gimmie gimmie gimmie!

  4. OMG, that is flippin cool. Bet it’ll cost a small fortune.

  5. That is truly staggering. The transformation is so neat and quick. I was half expecting some lumbering and amusing metamorphosis where we die of boredom but no-siree-bob! Fantastic. Deserves some sort of model-making award.

  6. Very, very cool! A surprisingly relaxed presentation too.

  7. I’m just looking at the still shot in used by YouTube as the placeholder and thinking.. that looks like it could be a full sized car..

If I ever win the lottery I WILL have a full sized transformer.

    • if i win, i’m gonna go to japan and visit that life sized Gundam.
then i might buy that little transformer in the video.

  8. Saw this on Hexus a few days ago, looks rather good.

  9. If it were me, I would have filmed it all using a MUCH sturdier table…
