PSN Store Update: 05/12/12 - The One With The Ni No Kuni Demo

The first Wednesday of Christmas, and it's a good one. Fully updated with the usual clicky list.

Ni No Kuni on a recent PSAccess episode
Alongside the surprise release of the classic puzzler Lemmings on the PlayStation Store today (hint: it’s free) there’s also a lovely treat in the form of a Ni No Kuni demo.

That name is still going to prove to be a little problematic with the casual shopper, but – seriously – it’s a gorgeous game and please try the demo if you want to see something lovely on your PS3 today.

Today also sees the release of the new Uncharted game. It’s not really like any of the other Uncharted games because it doesn’t involved climbing or shooting or chatting or swimming or lengthy cut-scenes but it does feature all the Uncharted cast on little flat playing cards. Interested?

We’ve been playing it a bit and it’s actually not bad at all. Not brilliant, but not bad.

Also available is Sonic All-Stars Racing Transformed for the PS Vita – you can read about the game and our comparison with LBP Karting and F1 Race Stars here. Hopefully the Vita version is just as good. Rayman Origins is also there for the PS Vita.

Of course, PS3 fans will be happy to know that the original Mass Effect is also there for their system. Remember also that Batman Arkham City, Vanquish and Limbo are now FREE for PlayStation Plus subscribers. All three of those are wonderful games, and highlight the sheer quality of Plus at the moment, which is really on a roll.

The content is all up and ready to download now, along with the return of the ‘new this week’ block, which is most welcome.

That’s good, i bought B:AC 2nd hand and it was really annoying as every second collectible you tried to pick up the game would chastise you and tell you they were only available by buying the catwoman dlc.

Yeah, catwoman was automatically added to my download list when added Arkham City. Nice surprise.

Does that not concern you as a mouse?

Or is it just Toads that give you issues?

This is happening a lot on the store recently, paying for games and only getting the unlock codes.
Create an alt account and grab the demo that way before logging back to your own account to unlock it. Worked for me with another game last week when Sony were slow to offer me any assistance.

btw, that’s an alt account for the same region … not sure if you can unlock a US trial with a UK unlock code etc..

apparently if you go to the game page on the store it should have the trial version available to download.

Yep – If it is a game that is a ‘trial & unlock’, the 6kb thing will just be the unlock. You will therefore need to find the trial file to get the game.

It stupid & i don’t know why both wouldn’t be together, but that’s the PS Store for you!

If you dl’ed the trial and deleted it you will have to get it again from from your dl list.

My store tells me I purchased Rayman Origins for the Vita, when all I actually did was download the demo a while back. Tried to see if it would allow me to download the full game…and it has!

Have you actually tried it? It says I’ve purchased it too, but once it downloaded it was just the trial again.
