Festive greetings Snatchers, believe it or not there have been a few bits of news this week so here is a special Snatch packed full of juicy gaming news, starting with a new trailer for Aliens: Colonial Marines.
Guerrilla Games have been dropping rather strong hints that something, possibly next gen Killzone 4, is on its way. These were their closing comments on a festive post from the PS Blog.
2013 is gearing up to be another big year for Guerrilla – quite possibly the biggest since we released the original Killzone way back in 2004. We’ll have more details for you at a future date, but until then we hope you share a wonderful holiday with your loved ones, and we’ll see you in 2013.
Telltale Games have announced that The Walking Dead Episode 1 is available to download for free on Xbox 360 for a limited time. The first episode is also available for free on iOS but the PS3 is lacking in zombie love. The Xbox offer lasts until the end the year a.k.a. Monday.
The Mayan prophecies are true, it’s the end of the world! That can be the only explanation as to why Sony are to stop selling PlayStation 2‘s in Japan.
A trailer for the sequel to PC scare ’em up, Slender, because nothing says Christmas more than being terrified out of your pants.

Dead Space 3 is to get a demo on the PSN and Xbox LIVE on January 22nd but Xbox owners can sign up here and get the demo a week early. Staying with Isaac and the Necromorphs (that would be a fab name for a band!), an interview on CVG seems to hint that swearing at Kinect may have positive results.
“There are commands where you might be in a certain situation and you might yell a specific expletive and it might behave in a way that you want it to. We definitely have done some things there,” hinted producer Steve Papoutsis.
Hang on let’s think about this, “You might yell a specific expletive and it might behave in a way that you want it to”? Really? So when faced with a surprise onslaught of Necromophs the gamer will shout “Oh sh*t!” and Isaac will drop trou and have poo? Heavens only knows what will happen when a Necromorph jumps from an air vent and the player screams “Oh f*ck!”
The festive funsters at Futurlab have announced that Coconut Dodge is to be spruced up for next year. In a “Special Christacean Message,” they tweeted, “Clawrence is also coming to Vita natively in 2013 with online scores, PSN Trophies and HD coconuts! #awesomes.” Perhaps they will take this opportunity to explain why a falling coconut can kill Clawrence but a giant anchor made of gold dropping on his bonce does not.
And finally, I was playing Need For Speed: The Run over Christmas and somehow managed to drive around the finish gates on one level and found the literal end of the road. Apologies for the crap video quality!

it’s not christmas unless somebody wets themselves, either through fear or drunkeness, it doesn’t matter. ^_^
i downloaded The Walking Dead, not played it on xbox yet, though i did give the ios version a go, i think i’d prefer the game with button, though it is still playable on a touch screen, probably better on an Ipad sized screen though.
Nate
It works a treat on the iPad, the touch screen is a perfect fit for the point and click nature of the game and the QTEs. I wouldn’t recommend playing it on the iPhone though, as you say it really needs a decent sized screen to appreciate.
