This week’s game charts had a bit of a glitch, thanks to one retailer’s data not being quite right. Thankfully, it’s been corrected now and we have access to the most accurate retail chart for UK game sales once more.
The big news is that FIFA 13 has reclaimed top spot for the first time in ten weeks. It beat Ubisoft’s fantastic Far Cry 3 into second position, ahead of Black Ops II. Microsoft has two first party titles in the top ten, three if you widen the net to the top twenty. Nintendo has two in the top thirty, Mario Kart 7 and New Super Mario Bros 2 on 3DS. There are no Wii U games, no Vita games and no Sony exclusives in the top 40.

Shame though, how people ignore it’s MASS of problems just because ‘well, it’s FIFA ain’t it bruv’.

oh dear, I didn’t realise it was that bad? I’ve never had any issues but admittedly haven’t played it for anything like the length of time I’d usually put into a FIFA game.

Yeah it’s pretty bad. I’m pretty sure every key mode has at least one problem. All apart from Kick Off, you know, just a quick offline match.
Virtual Pro – Accomplishments don’t save quite regularly, earning the same ones the next week. Getting into the mode is currently glitched for most people, as it takes 4 – 5 times of the message ‘can not receive your online information’ for it to work. Can crash your PS3 when editing your pro (happened to me a few times, it has magically stopped now though, still occurs for some).
Career Mode – Still crashes at the same point of my 2017 manager season, rendering this game mode unplayable unless I want to start again, which I would consider were it not for the fact that I have heard alot of people getting the crash in the first season of their newly set up career, and I have invested so much time into my 2017 career.
Ultimate Team – Coins dissappearing randomly, players brought on the auction house not going through but still getting charged the coins for them, players dissappearing randomly, online tournaments not saying you have won the previous round despite just playing the whole match and winning it.
There are definitely more problems that I haven’t listed in those modes, and this doesn’t take into account the general problems such as getting disconnected from their servers regularly (happens to alot of people I know too, our connections are good it is just their online servers) and the game telling me that my Online Pass has expired – resulting in me having to go to the PS Store and redownload it. I didn’t think of doing this first of all, as I was full of rage, so I smashed the game case instead (I have a few spare empty cases, so I can store the disc, cover, manuals etc in there). Probably over reacting I know, but I had had a pretty hard day and just wanted a simple game online.
Did I also mention the general gameplay problems such as their still unfixed impact engine despite having a year to tweak it (and it was kind of nearly done in the first place), footballs going invisible (now fixed) and linesman running directly down and across the middle of the pitch. It is like they have actually taken a step backwards. I don’t know how that can happen for such a big game, but they have done it.

So glad to see still see Sonic Transformed there. I am in love with that game. Also big claps for Epic Mickey 2. I just started the game and its utterly charming :)

Far Cry 3 is still outselling BLOPS2!? :O Tis surprising. Tis no surprise that Fifa is still at number one as it’s fifa and i think it’s the football season.
