Giant Sparrow’s Next Game Is “Not A Million Miles Away” From Unfinished Swan

The Unfinished Swan, one of 2012’s best video games, is to get a kind of sequel. Except it’s not really a sequel, despite developers Giant Sparrow saying the next game is “not a million miles away” from Monroe’s genre-busting adventure.

“Our next game is still kind of a secret,” says the Giant Sparrow blog, “the working title is ‘Unannounced Giant Sparrow Project’ and there’s no release date yet or platforms announced.”

The title of the page reads Edith Finch.

“If you like surreal experiences and games that aren’t much like anything you’ve ever played before then you’ll probably like it,” the blog continues.

“Our last game took us a little over 3 years to make so as you can imagine we’re still in a very early phase on this new one,” the post teases. There’s literally nothing in there that might suggest what the game is about, apart from a piece of concept art.

Read our Unfinished Swan review here, which Giant Sparrow described as “one of our absolute favorite reviews” which is really nice.

  1. Intriguing, i wasn’t blown away by Unfinished Swan but it certainly had some charm so i’m interested in seeing what Giant Sparrow do next.

  2. I am quite offended by the mirror passing as concept art :D Unfinished swan is still waiting on my PS3, Untouched. Reminds me I should get to that soon.

  3. Stung by Unfinished Swan but still interested to see what they churn out as it’s lovely to see stuff that’s anything but-the-norm being developed.

  4. Looks like light and dark type affair. Its all moons and candles. Colour me intrigued…
