I don’t know about you, but I’m kind of getting a bit bored of all this snow and cold weather. It’s not as exciting as it was a few months back, not to mention how much a pain in the arse it is for people now without power, or who need to actually get places.
Enough whinging though, on to the rest of the Chronicle.
What’s this? A birthday?
In a crazy turn of events, the usual section where we look at where people play games seems to have been hijacked by McProley, who has something he’d like to share:
My best buddy Leigh, or as you all know him, Youles, is reaching the ripe old age on 30 on Wednesday. Firstly, I’d like you all to join me in wishing him a very happy birthday and hoping it brings many much gaming. Love you man!
Secondly, I’d like you all to see what a charming role model he has become in his journey to middle age from his early school days:
In case you were wondering, Youles is in the middle, I’m on the right, and on the left is our mate SwedishRyan, who’s not actually Swedish.
Happy Birthday, old man.
However, we’re back to the usual next week, so if you’d like to share your gaming set up, please use the submission form below, get in touch with me on twitter @teflon, or just send me an email out of the blue to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Looks like quite a quiet week on the trophy hunting side of things. Quite a few people are still plugging away at the Tomb Raider platinum, but there have also been a handful who have got bored of it, which I found quite surprising. Even so, KeRaSh has 100% from the single player campaign, and R1MJAW has nabbed himself the platinum whilst grinding along online.
He’s also been finishing off the WRC Powerslide trophies, with just the online racing aspect to go before hitting 100%. Germanos is also on the hunt, going after the Bioshock platinum, just a few short days ahead of Bioshock Infinite’s release. No doubt he’s a little less aggravated by it than McProley, who is trying to finish off Sound Shapes’ Death Mode levels.
If you’ve done them yourself, then you’ll understand why he might feel a little like punching things afterwards, a sentiment myself and Bunimomike occasionally felt as we ploughed through Magicka, on one of our regular co-op romps. That game is particularly unforgiving in its design.
Crazy_Del took the platinum for Crysis 3, but was part of a three way tussle with Wolf-OF-chaos and Taylor Made to get the fastest platinum for God of War: Ascension. All three have managed it, though, and before the already infamous “Trials of Archimedes” section was made easier with a patch. It was, however, Wolf who took the fastest record.
Stand out achievement must go to tactical20 though, who finished The Saboteur’s campaign, and was polishing up the last few trophies to get his 9th platinum when, BOOM! He became a dad to a baby boy. To be honest, I think this was a somewhat expected birth from his point of view.
That’s almost your lot, but you can head over to page two for the fastest platinums board. To finish off this page, we have the usual submission form for photos and accomplishments. Don’t hold back!
