PSN Store Update 24/04/13 - Thomas Was Alone, God Mode, Draw Slasher

The one where Thomas wasn't alone any more.

Today should see the release of the imaginative platformer, Thomas Was Alone on PS Vita and PS3. For those of you who haven’t yet had the chance to enjoy it on PC, and even for those who have but want to hear the developer’s commentary, it’s well worth downloading. That’s free for PlayStation Plus subscribers, too. You might even want to drop a couple of pounds on the brand new DLC levels for it.

God Mode is a third person multiplayer, cooperative shooter that puts you and some friends (or randoms) into wave-based arenas with ancient mythical creatures and modern weaponry. It looks a bit weird but solid enough.

There’s a release for Injustice: Gods Among Us and some add-on packs for it too. That’s priced at the odd figure of £47.99 with a £11.99 Season Pass and some other, cheaper bits and pieces like the Blackest Night skin for Batman at 79p and a Zombie Mode add-on which reskins every character into a zombie version, also at 79p.

Zone of Enders HD is up for £19.99 and Vita owners can look forward to Draw Slasher for just £3.99.

We’re also expecting a digital release for Dead Island: Riptide, a standalone expansion to Deep Silver’s divisive zombie killer. There’s plenty of extra play time here, but from what we know so far it’s mostly built upon exactly the same base as the previous game. That’ll either be a good or a bad thing, depending on which camp you fell into previously.

We’ll update with the full list later, if there’s anything exciting to talk about.

Bollocks if we’re (EU) not getting it.
        Another Counterstrike scenario then :(

According to the dev it’s in submission with SCEE … however it’s been there for 3 weeks. Either they’ve declined it based on the partly broken online (can’t join random people only friends) that US users have been complaining about and are waiting for the patch (similar to what happened with Retro City Rampage) or they’re just very slow at getting games through the submission process due to the multiple languages they need to test (as SCEA managed to get their version through submission in just 3 days).

ms got it through their submission process for their eu marketplace on time.

and frankly, there’s not even that much text in a game like Terarria.

even with the new tutorial mode.

When you add the PS3 version it automatically adds the corresponding Vita version to your download list. The message you get is normal for cross buy if you try to add both versions.

Will no doubt download Thomas Was Alone (free on PS+ so why not).
As for Dead Island, given Tesco/BlockBuster are selling it for 25quid at the moment I doubt the digital version will offer the same great deal.

I wouldn’t actually mind having Injustice as a download, as it’s not something I’d trade in and would want to play with others or just on my own at any time, and I’m too lazy for disks (as my almost full 640GB hard drive shows), but not at that price. Honestly, the whole ‘you’ll buy a disk, install it and never use the disk again but can’t resell it’ rumours for the next gen almost appeal to me, in the same way as PC gaming feeds my lazy approach to things.

Just a small point, Draw Slasher is £3.99 not £4.99.
