June’s European PlayStation Plus Games Revealed: Ico, Shadow Of The Colossus And Demon’s Souls

Sony have just announced that the Ico and Shadow Of The Colossus HD Collection and Demon’s Souls will be June’s PlayStation Plus Instant Game Collection titles.

They’ll be joined (presumably) by a couple of PlayStation Vita titles.

Ico and Shadow were two of the PlayStation 2’s best games. They scored (together) 9/10 in our review, and are absolutely worth grabbing.

For anyone rushing to get the games (and, we’d guess, without PlayStation Plus) can grab Ico for £7.29 or the collection for £10.99. Demon’s Souls is also £7.99 just now.

  1. Mind you, these are just two out of six PS Plus games for June. Ico and Shadow Of The Colossus HD Collection is one game (set), and there are always three regular games.
    In addition, June sees the rotation of three games that are ‘fixed’ for a year, so three additional games will rotate in June. In total, four more PS3 titles will be release, and indeed, two more Vita ones. (Yes, the fun never ends!)

  2. Decent for me I guess, Ive never played any of them although i have heard a lot about them. ICO and SOTC have that cult following that I have never been part of and I’ve heard Demon Souls is a game that is so hard it brings people to tears. June will be interesting ;-)

    • I heard idiotic Xbox owners still do. Mind you, they also pay £50 a year for ingame chat and believe every word that Microsoft tells them about PSN.

  5. Was looking to buy Demon’s Souls again. £7.99 is a steal, even if the servers are down now. Still not looking to resub to Plus, haven’t since the instant game collection arrived.

  7. I can finally plat ico, need one trophy complete the game in 2 hours

    • Haha me too. Lost interest by that point.

      • Lol the controls don’t help either, dragging that girl everywhere is annoying

      • Yup for me it’s the opposite of what an AI character should be. With bioshock being the other end of the spectrum.

    • That trophy pissed me off….there’s a step section where you have to leave Yorda and go inside to climb up and push a block down, and you have to leave her with those enemies…it was so annoying as they kept getting her….and the jumping is a bit unreliable towards the end for some reason, meaning you have to keep watching the bridge sequence and run across the bridge which just feels like it takes ages, just to get back to where you died!

  8. I already have SOTC and ICO and Demon’s Souls doesn’t even have any active servers any more making the game a shadow of the game it is meant to be. Don’t see the point in giving away games this old with plus.

    Anyone vaguely interested in any of these would already have either bought them or rented them or in the case of Demon’s Souls, bought and completed Dark Souls.

    • I’m with you here. All excellent games but really old. Compared to hitman last month which was super new. Ne’er mind have so much to be getting on with. Loving hitman so much soul sacrifice has been completely neglected.

      • If they reopen the Servers for Demon’s Souls it is worth it, if not the game is nowhere near as fun.

    • Weren’t the Demon’s Souls servers saved from being shut down about a year ago? I thought they were planning on shutting them down, but then changed their minds.

      Seems pretty stupid to give it away after they shut the servers down. But then again, I’ve learned to never underestimate the stupidity of anyone. Including myself. Usually myself, really.

      • I heard this too.

      • I think that rumor was referring to the Atlus servers (US). I think they’re still running though.

    • Have to disagree ive been wanting to play ico and sotc for a while but havemy got round ti buying them so! His update is another quality update for me.

  10. Guys. They’re only announcing these just now because they’re part of the sale and people would kick off if they bought the games in the sale then they were cheaper two weeks later.

    The big games, the newer ones, are still to come… =)

    • Ooh nice reminder. I’m really not fussed though. Have so many great games lined up. A great age to be a gamer.
