GAME Announce Xbox One And PS4 Lock-Ins

Everyone loves a lock-in.

From now until 20th November GAME stores across the land will be holding lock-ins, allowing gamers to get their paws on an Xbox One or PlayStation 4, weeks ahead of their official launch.

“We’re delighted to bring this exclusive evening experience to our stores and customers,” said GAME’s category director Charlotte Knight.

PS4 games on show include  FIFA 14, Knack, Super Mother Load, Octodad, Pinball Arcade and Contrast whilst Forza Motorsport 5, Dead Rising 3, RYSE and Killer Instinct will be available to play on the Xbox One.

For a full list of participating stores – and there are plenty of them, not just London – click here. You must be over 16 and can request a spot in-store or by Twitter.

Worrying lack of DriveClub for the PS4 events. Uh oh.

Seeing as Fifa will be available on both platforms, I think the PS4 games look worse in general :/

Over 16s event not an over 18s event would be my guess why there is no Killzone.

But Dead Rising and Ryse are both 18’s.

Perhaps Killzone is another next-gen game that isn’t really ready yet?

Annoyingly, only the PS4 is visiting Portsmouth, not the Xbone. None of the PS4 games interest me, but I would have quite liked to have tried Forza and Ryse.

Only indie titles on PS4 (except for Knack), major titles on Xbone..
Wonder why sony does not have Driveclub, Killzone, Infamous, Resogun, etc..
    Wonder why..

Because it’s a 16+ event. Killzone (at least) is an 18.

Maybe the demo they use is only a 16 otherwise Game should be in hot water allowing under 18’s to see or play an 18.

It will be interesting to see if the PS4 lock-ins are better organised than the X1 lock-ins. A friend of mine attended an X1 lock-in recently and said it was a complete mess:
70 people but a very limited number of Kiosks for people to try out the games. He got a couple of minutes on Ryse before being asked to let the next person play and he did a single lap on Forza. Didn’t even get to check out Dead Rising or KI.

I understand the obvious limitations but personally I would have preferred if they limited the number to, say, 10 people, meaning those lucky enough to attend got a proper hands-on experience with the console.

Very limited lineup for PS4, actually the day 1 games for Sony are so lacking that I won’t be buying it day 1, I’ll probably wait till Infamous, and wait for deals on fifa 14 and ac4 up to that point …

Day 1 is slightly disappointing. But I cant NOT get a PS4 as I want to know what Naughty Dog can do with it! Plus Knack, Playroom, Killzone as the PS4 exclusives and AC4,Battlefield 4 and FIFA 4 are my preorders. Cant wait.

I agree that good, nay, great games will come…
However … not until February at least (more than three months after release) where the first of them arrives …

At least that’s my opinion… No “console selling” game were I go WOW, I gotta get a PS4.
