Eleven Hours Of PSN Maintenance Tomorrow

Sony have scheduled PSN maintenance for tomorrow, Thursday 7th November from 14:00 until Friday 8th November 01:00 GMT.

Account Management, the PSN store and Home will unavailable but if you have recently logged in to the PSN your account details should be cached so you will be able to play online.

As ever, there may be some additional downtime after the maintenance period for testing purposes.

It is a rather long period of maintenance but Sony does have to prepare the network for the PS4 launch, if you wish to play online tomorrow we suggest you log in tonight to cache your details.

  1. boooooooo ! Fair enough if they are getting ready for the PS4, but they have been doing this for the last year or two, so I don’t accept that.

        Plus the excuse of ‘having to get ready for PS4’ doesn’t really sit too well with people who have no intention of getting one any time soon!

      • Not really, no – Why should i have to put up with downtime on my current system to make allowances for a system that isn’t even out or anything to do with it?

        Also makes me think that a lot of PSN issues will simply carry on to the next gen, which isn’t a great thought.

      • It probably won’t affect the get together can’t remember if it did last time there was maintenance,also you can’t really expect them not to do maintenance ready for the millions who are getting PS4 because people arnt getting one,it’ll probably benefit everyone anyway so what’s a few hours between friends ;D we’ve had maintenance regularly for years PS4 is just something new to blame it on lol.

      • Well I’m guessing we all share the same network so it is to do with PS3 also,Turn that frown upsidedown Forrest ;)

      • I had this crazy idea that they might actually have a more reliable PSN away from the current (crappy) one for the PS4. I know, madness!

        Seems not – One things for sure though, i won’t be paying to use the PSN on PS4 if its going to be the same as now!

        I put up with stuff now because it’s free. That excuse goes out of the window with next gen.

      • I don’t think PSN is half as bad as people make out a lot of my issues have been down to my ISP,yes there is maintenance but its all for the good of the network,I already pay for plus and I’m happy to do so so next gen is no different that way for me,hopefully there are improvements with everyone paying but in my experience with both Live and PSN I really didn’t notice the so called massive difference,hopefully it is a separate network but as I say I’m guessing its shared between PS3 4 and Vita all I know is with PSN Ive had years of enjoyment and far more good experiences than bad. ;)

    yes, i am joking, about being angry.

    i understand they need to prepare for the PS4 launch, better to get the system ready before launch than wait and have to fix all the problems after.

    unless of course they're also gonna give out free money after. ^_^
