Here is a video. This video is special, not only because it shows Killzone Shadow Fall being played on PS4 via Remote Play using a PS Vita, but because it’s one of the shortest and lowest quality videos uploaded to YouTube this year.
It does show some interesting things though – the video is simply replicated on the screen above, rather than disappearing entirely, so someone can watch you play Killzone on your TV while you’re nowhere near it.
The game also looks very responsive, and the clicks of the right trigger seem to match up almost perfectly. Latency was always a worry with Remote Play.
One thing which is doesn’t show is the player sprinting or using any of the secondary trigger commands – I’m really interested in seeing how that works, perhaps it’s all mapped to the touch screen or back pad? Though, he does use melee at about five seconds in.

Less lag than most people’s TV sets. I’m impressed.
lambchop
Well that looked almost lag free! Very impressed!

I’m encouraged by this.

Which I read with Peter Griffin’s voice in my head…

Nice I know a lot of people hate COD but I was pleasantly surprised when I looked on the box of my PS4 copy and saw Remote Play supported,Killzone an COD while on the shitter the possibilities are endless :D now battlefield 4 would would take this to a whole new level :D
lambchop
I agree. I quite often get caught short. So it’ll be nice to be able to slip up to the shitter but continue playing.

Lol ;)

YES! hahaha! that awkward feeling……. where you need to go, but you think you can hold out for one more game (COD now, not battlefield) but about 30 seconds in, you’re touching cloth, so you have to hide in a corner while you nip upstairs!
….Gone!!

Looks good, kinda. Remote play will probably have less lag than my tv.

Imagine…stopping playing to go to the toilet will be a thing of the past.

This means I could play online with the little ones sleeping, and if one of them has a bad dream or something, I could look after them while still trying not to ruin my team’s game. Hopefully without causing even worse nightmares… ;o) (somehow I don’t think that’ll work…)

So glad I picked up a hand grip for my Vita – looks like I’m going to need it.
TSBonyman
Which one did you get and how is it working out? I’ve been thinking of picking one up but haven’t seen any in my local stores.

I got the Hori Official one from Amazon:

It’s pretty good. I’ve got big hands so found it a real improvement.
I’ve still not used it for really long gaming sessions, it’ll get much more use when I have my PS4.

Must be using a form of Miracast, just like Wii U. There’s no performance impact when displaying the same image, so it can send it to both TV and Gamepad/Vita.
KeRaSh
Both the Vita and the PS4 rely on Gaikai tech that’s built into the systems. If I recall correctly the PS4 has a separate chip that does the video encoding to stream it to the Vita without taking a performamce hit. Not sure how Miracast works so I can’t compare it.

It’s basically the exact same thing I believe.

“In glorious 240p” Haha, love it.
