Call of Duty: Ghosts is the completely unsurprising chart topper this week but it’s only the year’s third biggest launch, behind Grand Theft Auto V and FIFA 14. PS4 players are stocking up before launch as 3% of the sales for Ghosts were for PlayStation 4.
Nintendo’s Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy lands outside the top ten and gains a new entry at number thirteen whilst the rest of the top of the chart remains broadly similar to last week.
As the top ten is rather stale I thought we would have a look at the whole top forty this week with a clutch of PS3 exclusives down in the low twenties, Beyond: Two Souls, The Last of Us and Uncharted 3 going against its name and still charting. Someone – god knows who – is still buying Assassin’s Creed III which is claiming 30th whilst Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles appears to be one of those games that Activision release without any fanfare and consequently sink very quickly to the bottom of the charts.

Look-people are buying Angry Birds: Star Wars. I wonder how many copies would be needed to sell to make a profit for Rovio?
0.5
Minecraft has been in the top 10 for a long time.
3% of COD sales were for the PS4. Seeming the console hasn’t been released yet, I take it thats a good start?
Considering that the 3% of PS4 versions outsold the PS3 versions of Assassin’s Creed IV and Battlefield 4, it’s very impressive.
Interesting that there was a 62% – 34% split between 360 and PS3 too, I would of thought it would have been much more even.
Is there any percentages of BF4 360/PS3 sales?
could that mean more people are getting the PS4 version than Xbone geting 360 version? i know I’m waiting for PS4 version, however if I didn’t want a PS4 I probably wouldn’t buy a Xbone so would get the 360 version?
hmmmm….perhaps not :-)
It doesn’t look like it has those figures Dave: http://ukie.info/content/ukie-week-45-2013-uk-video-games-charts
@Stonyk It’s hard to know, you’ve also got to take into account that isn’t a comparison between PS4 Ghosts and PS4 versions of AC4 and BF4, as people may well be holding off for the next-gen versions of those games too.
Tomb Raider is still in the top 20? Amazing. :)
