Netflix, LoveFilm, BBC And More Apps Confirmed For UK PS4 Launch

While there’s currently only BBC iPlayer, BBC Sport, Demand 5 and IGN video services available on the PS4, more apps will become available when the system launches on Friday.

Landing on November 29th are Netflix and LoveFilm players, while Sony’s own Music and Video Unlimited services will be available. Other apps on launch day include BBC News, Wuaki.tv, Total Channel, RTBF, NOS Sports, Ximon, Watchever, maxdome and Viaplay, while more will become available in December and beyond.

Those include VidZone and Quickflix, which will launch on or before the 4th of December, but that’s not all – there’ll be even more apps by Spring 2014, including Game One, FilmoTV and TuneIn Radio, the latter of which recently released on PS3 and PS Vita.

None of these apps will need a PlayStation Plus subscription to use, although some naturally may come with their own costs and subscriptions.

However, not all apps will be available in all regions, so we’ve got a table of the apps and the countries they’re available in below:

  1. Not a single one available in Poland…

  2. Good, I was wondering where Netflix and Lovefilm were. Now the only excuse to keep my PS3 is Dark Souls 2.

  3. And for Now tv. I’m keeping Ps3 so I’m not to much of a rush.

  4. It’s weird that Sony are doing the big advertising thing with Channel 4 but there doesn’t appear to be any news on a 4OD app yet.

    • 4od took ages to come to smart tv too. Just slack bastards it seems. Probs why they teamed up with SCEE, lol!

  5. Yes, Netflix from the very get go is a big thing for me. Very pleased

  6. Still no NHL Gamecenter for the UK, does anyone know if this will ever come to the UK?

  7. Might get Netflix on launch now, or at least test it out.

  8. Sounds good, hopefully we’ll get the funky Netflix app they’ve put on the XBox One.

    • What’s so funky about it? Is it different from the updated player on the PS3?

  9. Lack of Loveflim had me in the balance, but now all is good, and the PS4 has a far better TV lineup than the Xbox One (which has no iPlayer). I can wait for 4OD.

  10. Wow, still no Videostore for Ireland! Ridiculous.
