UK Charts 04/01/14: No Change At The Top

FIFA scores once again.

The first UK games multi-format sales charts of the year have been released, and there’s no change at the top.

The past week has seen no new releases, which means today’s charts are unremarkably similar to December 30th’s – with EA’s FIFA 14 remaining top of the pile for a sixth consecutive week.

The rest of the top 10 also remains static, aside for Minecraft on the 360 which climbs one place to #8, kicking Just Dance 2014 down to #9. Exciting start to your new year, I know.

I bought BF4 and ACIV the other day… ACIV should arrive today, but I’ve had BF4 since Saturday.

I cannot believe how bad the game is “out of the box”. I was getting constant rubber banding and connection drops. After having played a Killzone Online recently the experience was terrible in comparison.

I’ve improved things by making my PS4 have a static IP address and then putting that IP outside of my firewall (DMZ) which has made a huge difference – but still, people shouldn’t have to fiddle like that with technical settings in order to get a game working – didn’t have to do anything of the sort with Killzone multiplayer – it just works. Was thinking of doing a quick guide on how to set up a static IP and DMZ with Sky Router if anyone would find it interesting / useful.

I’d have thought BF4 would be sorted by now, as it’d received that big patch in December, but it still appears to be very broken – wtf.

    /rant off, sorry guys :(

There really is a distinct lack of quality and diversity on the new generation. I would’ve thought they’d have a few new releases lined up but there’s pretty much nothing of interest to me for the foreseeable future, hence the charts looking as they do.
Come on developers, get developing some new stuff for the new gen to make an impact on these charts!

Yes – As tony says. And also do it quicker, cheaper and with less bugs or else……

I know what you mean, but there’s often a lull in new releases after a major console launch whilst publishers wait to work out where to focus their attentions.

There’s still plenty of interesting titles on the horizon in Q1, with Thief, inFAMOUS: Second Son, Titanfall (for the Xbox-ers), MGSV – Ground Zeroes and Watchdogs all hitting before March/April.
