Community Round-Up: 11/01/14

I’m back for my first article of the year, after Stefan kindly took care of duties for me last week. I hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year, it already seems so long ago. Anyway, let’s take a look over the past 7 days in this week’s Community Round-Up!

GTOWN has a Minecraft Meet at 8pm on Sunday, so bring your pickaxes and creative juice-boxes for what I’m sure will be an evening of constructing impressive architectural structures and not a single phallic object!

There’s also the usual Gran Turismo Meet on Monday and there might be the odd Battlefield Meet cropping up during the week.

Feel free to create a Meet yourself, or grab a merry bunch of TSA members in the forums.

The Reviews are starting to pick up again, catching up on a few releases at the end of last year. Stefan starts things off with a 7/10 score for Broken Sword 5 – The Serpents Curse: Episode 1 for both PC and Vita.

The other Reviews are also for handhelds, with Greg Turner also giving a 7/10, this time to Eufloria HD, and Dom giving The Amazing Spiderman a 6/10, both games of which are for Vita. The last review, which came from Peter, was for Createrria on iOS.

In some of our regular articles, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag’s companion app appeared on Mobile Watch, before Indie Focus featured Starbound, an early access game that’s already seen great successes. Aran looked at inFamous 2 in a Matter of Perspective at the start of the week, while Jim revisited DmC Devil May Cry for yesterday’s Playback.

Looking at the community, the Chronicle showcased all the Hot Topics and Achievements people had achieved over the Xmas break, while WeView began the new year by asking for your thoughts on last year’s biggest game, Grand Theft Auto V.

Guest writer, Vaughn Highfield, shared his tales from the high seas and life of being a pirate in the latest Assassin’s Creed game, while Blair gave us his opinions of Playstation Now and the future of streaming. Lastly, Peter and Aran teamed up to explore the ambiguity of war and give us a different perspective on military shooters.

Since Newsdesk and the Podcast are still on their Christmas breaks, all that’s left for us to mention is What We Played #138 from Greg.

The Forums are looking quite busy which is great to see!

  • While there are no firm plans yet, the FIFA Ultimate Team tournament is looking likely so get your name down if you’re interested.
  • Vandix is asking if anyone wants to join his TSA clan for Warframe, the F2P PS4 shooter.
  • McProley is looking for 2 dashing and handsome* TSAgents to help him get the last MP trophies for Tomb Raider on PS3.
  • Oh, and Steven returns. For what must be about the billionth time!

So, that’s it for my first Round-Up of 2014. I hope all your new year’s resolutions are going well, and I’ll see you next time. Bye!

*Actually, anyone will do , and the trophies are pretty simple!

Not got it yet. I’ve just seen it on Amazon cheap so I’ll be picking it up next week hopefully.

    Just added a streaming event.
Tuesday night from 9pm I’ll be streaming my attempt at collecting all the dog tags and weapons in BF4.
Not really a meet, more an opportunity to laugh at a really bad FPS player.
