It’s possibly the least imaginative and descriptive name for a game mode in a FPS, but Gun Game was a popular addition when it first appeared with Black Ops, starting all players with a pistol and unlocking more powerful weapons with each kill as players race to 20 kills. With the latest patch, this mode is coming out from the cold and being added to Call of Duty: Ghosts.
Coming today for Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC, and tomorrow for PS3 and PS4, this update does more than just lay the foundations for the Onslaught DLC pack which is out today for Xbox platforms. The most noticeable changes come from the alterations to the playlists, with Hunted FFA added and with Gun Game coming in at the expense of Heavy Duty (though you can still get Heavy Duty via health options in private matches).
Of course, there’s a litany of other tweaks and fixes across the board, with balances to perks, a whole host of changes to eSports, a new Southpaw stick layout and the ability to customise your appearance in Extinction mode.
You can find the full list of the changes on the Call of Duty website.
