Community Round-Up: 01/02/14

By some miracle I survived my cold from last week, and have since spread it to all my house-mates – much to their displeasure, I might add.

So, while I’m fit and healthy, it’s time to get on with this week’s Community Round-Up!

CRU Banner - comps plus

The first round of the TSA Plus Point Challenge saw some amazing scores in Resogun, but none were quite as amazing as X1BALBAABLAB1X’s, who got a score so high it put him 4th in the world!

You can also see the Leaderboard here to see how things are stacking up in this early stage of the championship.

CRU Banner - meets warframe

This week there’s just two Meets so far. TSA’s Warframe Clan meets tomorrow at 8pm, while Monday night sees the usual GT6 Meet testing out the new update at 7pm.

As per usual, if you have more than 250 TSA points, you should free to create your own meet if neither of those takes your fancy, and coordinate with other in the Meets section of our Forums.

CRU Banner - article - octodad

From the Reviews, Stefan gave the PC release of Octodad: Dadliest Catch a 7/10, suggesting that a controller is a must if you wish to get past the frustrating difficulty spikes, however it’s still an enjoyable game with a great story and one to look forward to on PS4. Peter also appeared with what he called ‘not quite a review of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition‘.

Stefan also brought along the three Previews we had this week. First up was Space Hulk: Deathwing set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, which was followed by the point and click Sherlock Holmes: Crimes & Punishment, and then the upcoming RTS, Etherium.

Indie Focus had a double appearance this week, first with Reus, and then with The Floor is Jelly. Powered by the Unreal Engine, The Dark Meadow featured as Jim took on this week’s Mobile Watch.

Jim then turned his attention to Monster Hunter in PlayBack, while Aran and a Matter of Perspective visited Fallout New Vegas,

Glancing at the Community articles now, Diablo 3 for Consoles received a unanimous ‘Buy It’ Verdict, while the new WeView game is Metro: Last Light, part of this month’s PS+ offerings. The Chronicle also launched its new Trophy Leaderboard for 2014, the first results of which will be shown tomorrow.

Tuffcub also gets a rare mention in the Round-Up this week thanks to his Top 10 Killzone Shadow Fall Multiplayer Tips, while we finished of with Episode 127 of the Podcast and What We Played #141.

With time for just a quick peak into the Forums, it looks like it’s been a tad quiet this week:

And there we have it. I think I’m going to spend most of my weekend sitting in front of the TV enjoying the opening weekend of the Six Nations, before Top Gear returns on Sunday. Whatever you’ve got planned for this weekend (hopefully it’s slightly more active than mine!), have a good one and I’ll see you all this time next week!

  1. Top Gear… Woohoo! :-) that’s my Sunday evening planned!

The weather in sunny South Wales is horrendous at the mo so I’m spending my weekend in hammering some old games to try and rinse them off their platinums. Exciting :-D

  2. Top Gear! Good work Gazza, thanks for the reminder! Any chance of giving us as Sky-planner-friendly sub 7 days warning before Suits starts again? Thanks mate.
Busy week on TSA, looks like I’ve got a few articles to catch up on.

    • Suits was back on Dave yesterday mate ;)

      • Blast, you legend, I should be in time to catch a repeat! Thanks!

  3. Top Gear or Warframe meet oh I’m not sure. Maybe join the meet tomorrow, I see if feel alright.

  4. For those that are interested, I believe X1BALBAABLAB1X has now got the top score in the world for that particular level.

  5. If anyone feels like a space of online racing with some (not so) cool dudes, there is always a weekly GT6 Meet with the TSA gang.

It’s mentioned in this article, but it always happens even if we forget to add it to the ‘Meets’ section and we don’t bite, much.

  6. Thanks for the shout. Feeling a bit lonely when loggin into Steam as I only have 3 people in my list. Still, not playing much as of yet as cash is a bit tight but at least there’s some free to play nonsense going on.
