Community Round-Up: 15/02/14

Wow, that week flew by! Perhaps it’s because I’ve left loads of coursework to do until the last minute again, so have been spending several late nights working away in the university library.

Anyway, seeing as I myself probably missed a fair bit of TSA content from this week, let’s crack on with this week’s Community Round-Up!

 CRU Banner - meets warframe

We’ll begin with the Meets, after briefly mentioning the Plus Points Challenge, for which you have until next saturday to get your entries in for the Don’t Starve Caption Competition.

Anyway, Vandix is hosting the usual Warframe Meet tomorrow night at 8pm, while Crazy_Del hosts the Killzone Meet on Monday, supposedly at 12pm (perhaps if Del is reading this he could confirm what time the Meet actually starts!).

There’ll also be the usual Gran Turismo 6 meet that night, while Kamokazi-UK is looking for people to help him out with getting some Tomb Raider (PS4) trophies next weekend.

If none of that takes your fancy, pop down your own Meet, assuming you’ve got 250 TSA points or more.

CRU Banner - article - titanfall

Beginning with the Previews, the biggest one we had this week was the upcoming Xbox and PC exclusive, Titanfall, which looks outstanding. Stefan also looked at inFamous: Second Son and Evolve, which is being made by the Left 4 Dead crew and for which there is also an interview.

The final preview came from Blair, who spoke to the guys at Image & Form about SteamWorld Dig and its future on PS4 and Vita.

On to the Reviews now, and let’s go in ascending order. So, starting at the bottom, Dom gave a 6/10 to Inazuma Eleven 3: Team Ogre Attacks for the 3DS. Moving up by 1 point was another handheld title, this time Toukiden, the Monster Hunter imitator for Vita, which Jim gave a 7/10.

Described as “one of, if not the scariest game I’ve played”, DanToo gave an 8/10 to Outlast, while War of the Human Tanks received a 9/10 from Aran. Lastly, The Last of Us: Left Behind DLC also received a 9/10 from Blair, which reminds me I am yet to pick up the game itself!

Turning our attention now to the regular gaming features, Jim looked at QuizUp on Mobile Watch, while The Binding of Isaac featured on Indie Focus.

Metro: Last Light was revisited in PlayBack and the latest instalment of the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Black Flag, featured in this week’s Matter of Perspective from Aran.

On now to the Community articles from the past 7 days, and the Chronicle’s hot topics included the new 3-year rotation for the COD studios, the lack of online in The Order: 1886 and the rather short Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, which can apparently be completed in just 2 hours.

Beyond: Two Souls proved to be a bit of a marmite game in its WeView Verdict, while Puppeteer, which probably slipped under quite a few of your radars due to it’s release being so close to GTA V, becomes the new WeView game for the week.

Tiding up the Round-Up in the usual way, Greg has What We Played #143 for us while the Podcast was Peter-less in Episode 129.

Time now for the Forums, and they’ve been quite busy this week:

Well that’s it for this week. I guess I better get back to all this coursework – hopefully I’ll still be sane enough to be back next week! Bye!

  1. The MW2 meet is a fantastic idea – looking forward to getting back into that :-)

    • Just wish more people would show some interest mate :(

      • Maybe now Teffers has given it a mention here some others will join in :-)
My co-op mate who helped get me through spec ops has recently had a nipper so his gaming time has decreased dramatically unfortunately. I did ask though. Shame, as he was bloody good at it :-(
