News Snatch: There Came An Echo, Exodus Of Sol And Minecraft PS4 & Vita

Time for more Snatch and there is a huge amount of good stuff today starting with the announcement of There Came an Echo for PS4. Keen Snatchlings may recall the game being announced for Xbox One and using Kinect. Microsoft made quite a lot of fuss about the game and it was one of the lead titles on their new ID@Xbox program.

“After extensive trend analysis and writing numbers down on paper in the hopes of making it look like we knew basic mathematics, we made the executive decision to bring our title, There Came an Echo, over to the Sony side of town,” said Jason Wishnov Lead Designer at Iridium Studios.

PlayStation gamers fear not, you won’t need a PS4 camera to play, as you can shout into your Dualshock to command your crack team. They are  described as not “generic military types, but individuals, unaccustomed to combat, thrown into an unimaginable conflict over a technology very certain to change the world.”

You can now make your own original customised Capture Jobs with the Capture Creator Update for GTA Online. “Strategically place pick-ups, define weaponry, location and lots of other variables to make your own unique Capture Job for others to take on,” says the PR blurb.

Bonkers News of the Day: David Attenborough’s next production, Conquest of the Skies, is being filmed for the virtual reality head set, Oculus Rift.

“We’re now filming for the Oculus Rift,” explained John Morris, commercial director of Atlantic Productions. “So when we filmed our recent flight in Borneo, we filmed with an eight-camera rig, so you got the full 360-degree experience.”

Anyone my age may now have a slight grin on their face after reading David Attenborough is working with John(ny) Morris. Anyways, John-boy thinks “millions” of Rifts will be sold, hence the filming. It should be noted that as of about now, 85,000 Oculus Rift dev kits have been sold and the product is not readily available to your average punter.

Guerilla Games’ next project, which is not Killzone related, will have “groundbreaking, innovative online gameplay.”

Killzone Shadow Fall has been blessed with an 800mb patch but there are no notes from Guerrilla. The most significant thing it seems to have done is to remove the double zoom for the DLC weapons.

Galak-Z: The Dimensional will land on PlayStation 4 in “late summer to early fall,” according to developer Jake Kazdal, with the PS Vita version following shortly thereafter.

You wait ages for a space shooter on PS4 and then Strike Suit Zero shows up, soon to be followed by Exodus of Sol, a “much improved version” of Sol: Exodus, a trailer for which you can see above.

No idea what Infinity Ward are hinting at here, but it must be something to do with Call of Duty: Ghosts.

  1. The COD thing just confirms that there’s going to be a new legend pack, this time with Soap. At first I got excited thinking it was some sort of single player DLC, but then I realised its just going to be some more stupid weapon camos.

Also, There Came an Echo looks pretty good, might keep an eye on it as its only $15 for PC on their site.

  2. I can now get back on Killzone mercenary & try plat the game now that the offline bot is live.

Wonder what game guerrilla are making or what type, I hope it’s away from sci fi but either way you know it’s going to be graphically beast

  3. There came an Echo looks promising, hope to see more of that soon. Not enough RTS games on consoles these days.

  4. The Naughty Dog art book sounds like it might be a nice collectors item. Exodus of Sol looks like it might be pretty good too.

  5. Is that really PS4 gameplay for Exodus of Sol? It’s looks like mid-previous gen footage, jesus. It’s a remake of Sol Exodus, which I own but haven’t played because I heard bad things about it.

There Came an Echo looks great. Also it has Wil Wheaton in it and the line “Make it so”, which is…a reference.

    • No that is not PS4 gameplay from Exodus of Sol. From what I gather reading it, it is the original game trailer and the PS4 version will be much improved.

    • No it says quite clearly “Sol: Exodus, a trailer for which you can see above” – Sol Exodus is the PC game, Exodus of Sol is the “Much improved” PS4 game.

      *tuts*

      • Oh good, I must’ve missed it somehow. Never mind ;-)

  6. That portable ’64 is brilliant, Ben Heck must be the inspiration, and most impressive is the home made vacuum former! Nice.

  7. There’s a fatal flaw with that Mario video thing.

Mario has always punched the blocks, never head-butted them.

  8. Pete Holmes does do some funny videos.

his Street Fighter red tape videos are pretty funny.
