WWE 2K15 First Showcase Rivalries Revealed, With CM Punk Confirmed For The Game

2K Games has confirmed the first two rivalries that will be present in WWE 2K15’s Showcase mode, a single player portion of the game that relives real moments from the WWE. It’s similar to the 30 Years Of Wrestlemania mode from WWE 2K14, which I thought was very well put together. In  this installation of the series players will be able to play through the rivalry of John Cena & CM Punk, which spanned from 2011 to 2013, and Triple H will go up against The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels from their rivalry which lasted from 2002 to 2004.

CM Punk’s inclusion was up for debate after he left the WWE on less than friendly terms, and recently stated that he would never return to the franchise. However since Punk has such a huge following of fans not including him in WWE 2K15 may have been a PR disaster. These two Showcases will have 33 matches between them, which will unlock additional wrestlers as well as alternate attire. 2K also announced that additional rivalries will be made available as downloadable content after the game’s release, though what other rivalries fans can expect remain under wraps. This isn’t the only single player mode as 2K recently confirmed that the MyCareer mode, which is present in the company’s NBA games, will be coming to the WWE.

WWE 2K15 launches on October 31st in the UK & Europe, while North America will get the game on the 28th.
