D4’s Prologue And First Two Episodes Release This Week On Xbox One

A bit of a surprise came out of the Tokyo Game Show this week when it was announced that D4 (short for Dark Dreams Don’t Die), will begin releasing on Xbox One today in Japan and tomorrow in the UK and the US. With Deadly Promonition’s Hidetaka “Swery” Suehiro at the helm, D4 is a game about a detective whose wife was recently murdered. With the use of time travel, the detective is now tasked with replacing certain memories that disappeared from his mind just after his wife died.

Although D4 has been advertised as a Kinect game (as shown in the new launch trailer below), you can also play with a standard controller if you don’t feel like getting off the couch. The prologue and the first two episodes will be available first, and we’re assuming that more episodes will follow in the future. Let us know in the comments if D4 looks like something you’re interested in.

  1. Looks interesting, and Swery’s games are usually good.

  2. The still in that video reminds me so much of “A Scanner Darkly”.
