Better watch out there's a Lemming about!

Hey ho everyone, welcome to another round up of gaming news and general bobbins. First up is a little video for PS Vita title Freedom Wars which launches in our green and pleasant land at the end of month. The game has been patched and now includes a PvP arena mode, huzzah!

Crytek have not ruled out a PlayStation 4 version of Xbox One launch title, Ryse. “We’re always open to new opportunities for our franchises, although for the moment we have our focus firmly on bringing Ryse to PC players,” said producer Brian Chambers.

If you have $1400 you could buy a custom built PlayStation 4 laptop, although I think the creator is stretching the definition of the word laptop as it is the size of a dinner table.

The Walking Dead Season One was released early in Europe on Xbox One but has quickly been removed from the Xbox store. Boo!

Torn Banner Studios’ Chivalry: Medieval Warfare will jump from PC to to PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 29th. You can find an ‘amusing’ live action trailer above, or a slightly more useful video of gameplay from the PC version below.

Our beloved Editor and Nintendo fan, Blair, dumped this next news item on my desk. If you tickle this link there is an explanation as to how Amiibos work in Super Smash Bros. “Essentially they are upgradable AI characters,” says Blair and who am I to disagree.

A launch trailer for Mario in A Pac-Man Suit Pac-Man and the Ghostly Adventures 2.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 Producer, Michiteru Okabe, is “really excited about VR.”

“It makes sense for a lot of game genres,” he added. “I think it makes a special kind of sense for horror games where immersion is more important than perhaps in other genres…I think we should most definitely start thinking about what we could do with that kind of technology in the future. It makes perfect sense.”

Perhaps I should send Michiteru Okabe the video I filmed at EGX which is ten minutes of Aran playing Alien: Isolation on Oculus Rift. Ten minutes of me standing there filming him, waiting for him to jump out of his seat and scream as a virtual xenomorph springs out from an airlock. Ten sodding minutes I waited for the virtual punchline, but no, nothing, not even a whimper.

The classic Aliens vs. Predator from the year 2000 is free for PC gamers via GOG.com, but be quick the offer will expire in less than 48 hours.

And Finally, the other day I was hunting through a box of junk and found this on cassette single, did you know the Lemmings had their own pop hit?

That assasin’s creed black flag + unity xbox one bundle was confirmed too.
Who’d of thought, a marketing deal announced just after version parity was confirmed! It’s almost like ubisoft want to become the bogeyman of the industry!

I like the look of Chivalry: Medievel Warfare, all wars should be fought like that – face to face with blades , no camping out with sniper rifles or guided missiles! :)

If Ryse on a PS4 is confirmed then I am definitely getting a PS4 as a token for finishing univ. next year.
That game looks like the game I always wanted to play.

Microsoft co-funded and marketed Ryse so I don’t think Crytek can release it on PS4. Just get an xbox, you won’t regret it.

Yes they can, they own the IP they can do what they want with it, including making Ryse for PS4 or going multiplatform with a sequel.

Oh didn’t know that. I’d have thought they’d have already released it if they could. Just a timed exclusive then?

I am also thinking about a timed exclusivity deal. Maybe after we pass the 1 year mark ? It will be interesting.
I am a sucker for history themed things and I’ve been waiting to play a good legionary game.
