Patch 1.04 For Driveclub Released, Some Reports Of Errors

Evolution has released a further statement on where Driveclub stands now, with patch 1.04 now out and available to download. I have done so with my copy, though there are some reports of not people not being able too. The patch is required to access the online portion of the game, which is still experiencing problems. Tonight I’ve managed to get into a couple of races, though the connection to the server does drop every so often.

We have a few new updates for you today as we work toward getting everyone connected and racing together in #DRIVECLUB:

1) The latest game update (1.04) is now available to download worldwide and you will need to install it in order to play online. Your PS4 will prompt you to download the update from PSN as soon as you fire up the game.

2) More servers and new upgrades are still coming online hour-by-hour, so we expect improvements to server connectivity and reliability for everyone. We will be bringing Face-offs back into play soon.

We are still also working hard to get the PS Plus Edition of DRIVECLUB out as soon as possible and hope to update you on this soon.

The Face-Offs do appear to be back on as I’ve just had a couple appear in races tonight. However challenges are still down by the looks of things. The statement did also mention diagnostic checks taking place which will also affect connectivity to the servers.

  1. really hope they sort this, played last night for the first time and really loved it. Even though it doesn’t have the customizability (thinks that the correct spelling) of Forza the cars still look nice with the paint jobs I’ve created so far.

  2. Looks like they’ve sold a few extra copies by delaying the plus version so its worked out nicely for them.

    • Yes. They love all this bad publicity and the negative stigma just so they could sell a few more copies.

    • Yes and all the people who has got their money refunded, doesn’t have anything to say in that calculation. Neither does the potential customers they lost, who would have updated the PS+ edition.

      ….d e r p

  3. This is becoming a joke now! I’d say the guys and gals at Evolution are extremely frustrated.

  4. As i rarely play online, the connectivity issues don’t bother me so much but of course many people must be becoming really frustrated by now. There can only be a finite window of opportunity to get this resolved favourably so let’s hope someone on the server code has a Eureka moment soon.

  5. *someone ‘working’ on

  6. The previous patch wouldn’t auto-download and still wouldn’t after clicking retry. Deleted the notification then started the game and it downloaded no problem. Worth a try if you’re having problems with latest patch.

  7. I’m fed up of hearing of all these supposed improvements to be honest. It’s still consistently dropping the connection, and each time I see a story where its supposed to be improved I’m only disappointed further when it ends up being false.

Without a connection I’ve nothing to do in the game any more. Even for the reduced price I regret getting the digital version, I could just sell the disc version at the moment and return when the servers are working.

The only thing that has gone Evolution’s way lately is the Project Cars delay.

    • I think the reduced price has been it’s saving grace for me at the moment. If I had paid full price for it I would be very disappointed. Right now I’m ok with waiting a little while for the servers to be sorted.
I’m also really looking forward to the weather and photo/replay updates to the game, so I’m taking a little break for it all to be sorted.

  8. Just to let you know, the PSN team are giving full refunds to digital purchases of Driveclub at the moment if you ring them.

I’m still holding out for the PS+ version before making a decision on buying. I would have thought Sony would have sent in the A team by now to try and help them get it sorted. Evolution must be gutted their big release has had these major problems. Hope its all fixed soon.

  9. I’ve decided to take a little break from the game now until the servers are back in full force, not this piecemeal way they are being brought back now.
I had a lot of fun with the single player tour but I’ve finished that and while at level 30 there are things to unlock still I’d rather wait until the game is working properly now. I don’t want to burn out with the game before I’ve levelled up my club and experienced all the social stuff.
That said it’s a brilliant game, with great graphics and, more importantly, a fantastic driving model. I feel sorry for Evolution that the launch has been such a mess.
