Ubisoft has released the launch trailer for Assassin’s Creed: Rogue, the PS3 and Xbox 360 offering for the series. It will also launch on PCs. We’ve known for a long time now that in Rogue you play as Shay, an assassin who turns against the Brotherhood to join the Templars instead. To me this presents a much more interesting premise than Unity, especially since the last couple of Assassin’s Creed titles have really made you question which side is worth fighting for. Those shades of grey really first cropped up in Assassin’s Creed III thanks to Haytham Kenway, who spoke about building a just world for all.
You’ll meet familiar faces in the game from AC III and Black Flag, including Haytham. Assassin’s Creed Rogue launches this Friday on the 14th in the UK.

Considering this game seems to have been entirely a money spinning side game to get money from those not ready to make the jump to new gen consoles yet… it looks damned interesting. More so than anything since Revelations.

i lost interest in the creed games, too many spin offs.
picked up black flag and fell in love with the series again.
this looks like its improving on black flag and taking it up a notch.
fingers crossed its going to be another return to form for creed.

I’m probably going to forget this exists. Unity looks much more fun, without any of the tedious naval bits that 3 and 4 had (which still didn’t stop them being good games).
So with Unity coming, and the inevitable PS4 version of Rogue some months away, Rogue is just something I’m vaguely aware is coming soon but it’s just not interesting me at all. Which is a shame, because I’m sure it might be quite good. Apart from naval battles which were just terrible in 3 and 4.
And really, with so much stuff coming in the next few weeks, I can quite happily wait a few months for it. Some more assassin shenanigans sometime in the quite months after christmas? Suits me fine.
