New Playable Character For The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Revealed To Be Ciri

CD Projekt Red has announced a new playable character for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt and her name is Ciri, though it’s not a case of choosing her or Geralt to tackle the game. Instead during certain points of the main quest players will take control of Ciri, and play out moments that affect the game world in a big way.  You can see her in the trailer above where it is stated she has elder blood, which comes from a long gone elven family line.

CD Projekt Red’s Robert Malinowski said of the character.

“She’s a living weapon… and everyone wants to control her. This, plus she also has her own will and agenda, so it’s not just finding her that counts. I think that is the most important aspect of this character. Geralt knows Ciri since she was a child. She’s Geralt’s apprentice and they have a close emotional bond – he trained her so she could become a witcheress.”

Sounds like there should be a good dynamic between the characters then, though you can never tell what is going to happen in The Witcher universe.
